Knighten Electric is a locally owned, full-service electrical contracting firm with over two decades of experience serving the Lowcountry of South Carolina.
With a career spanning more than 25 years, Oree Knighten has worked in home, commercial, and manufacturing sectors.
Before moving to South Carolina, he held the position of electrical superintendent at a salt mine in Louisiana for over a decade.
In this role, he managed the electrical program, developed safety protocols, designed programmable logic controls, and supervised a team.
Desiring to start his own business and spend more time with family, he and his family moved to the Lowcountry to establish Knighten Electric.
Amanda and Oree Knighten are the proud owners of Knighten Electric.
Amanda contributes her background in communications and sales to the construction industry in South Carolina.
With around 24 years in the electrical industry, Oree has a wealth of experience.
Oree started his journey by gaining hands-on experience through residential and commercial service calls while participating in a five-year electrical training program.
He advanced his career in diverse commercial and industrial settings, such as a paper mill, a nuclear power plant, and a salt mine.
He moved into project management, gaining insights into the importance of staying on budget and meeting deadlines.
Prior to his move to SC, Oree was the Electrical Superintendent at a salt mine, where he expanded his knowledge of programmable logic controls.
Upon exploring the Bluffton/Hilton Head area, the Knightens felt it was the right moment for a change and to embark on their journey of self-employment in a different state.
