I don't like to leave bad reviews, but I have given up on this guy. He was recommended by the company that built my outdoor kitchen. He did 90% of the work on the day I needed him there. He came back to finish up and had trouble with some of the finish work. He said he would return ""first thing in the morning"" to complete the work. That was over two weeks ago. Texts, emails, calls, nothing. I had already paid him for he work...my mistake. I have since had to pay another electrician to get this done. I won't use John again.

Are you f------ kidding me?? I took the day off from wk ($600.00+) for a scheduled appointment with John. I called the night before to verify the date and time, to which John responded affirmatively JOHN FALIED TO SHOW FOR THE APPOINTMENT!! I called and left a message and also texted him WITH NO ANSWER. WHATEVER YOU DO, DO NOT CALL JOHN BLACKBURN FOR ANY WORK! WHAT A TOTAL LOSER, A FRAUD!!

HIS CONTRACTOR'S LICENSE WILL BE SUSPENDED BY OCT 5TH IF HE DOESN'T PAY ME!

STAY AWAY FROM THIS GUY! HE IS A FRAUD & A FLAKE!

If you don't believe me, contact the state contractor's board and also please see Arline K.'s review from June 28th, 2015. I have uploaded a copy of one of the letters from the Contractor's Board, as proof that his license will be suspended.

John was supposed to attend the ""Judgment Creditor's"" Meeting on Tuesday, July 7th. He failed to show up. As a result, Judge Armento ordered a bench warrant on John & also placed a $5,000 bond on him, for failure to appear.

UPDATE TO MY PREVIOUS REVIEW ON JOHN BLACKBURN:

If you read my previous review, you're aware of all the things that went wrong. Well, it turns out I sued John Blackburn, and I won. In fact, the two judgments from April 7th, 2015 stand at more than $6500! I forwarded my judgments on to the State Contractor's Board, and they will suspend his license by October 5th, 2015, unless he pays me in full.

John, if you're reading this, just remember that you brought all of this on yourself. The reason you're in trouble with the law and you have two judgments against you is because of actions you took and your blatant refusal to settle this matter like adults. Judgments last for 10 years, are renewable, are listed on your credit reports, and they accrue interest at 10% per year!

So until you pay me in full, PLUS INTEREST, keep in mind that any job you actually take after October 5th, will be a violation of state law.

Ask yourself this John, are you finally ready to do the right and honorable thing and pay the judgments against you?

I hope you show strength of character and do the honorable thing. Pay me and let's both move on with our lives and put this thing in the past and behind us.

A disappointment. We had an appt. for this past Wed. at 6 PM. I called him at 6:20 PM asking him where was he - was he still coming? He ""seemed"" as though he forgot but I'm not sure about that. Said he'd be there in 15 min. ... and he did come but didn't apologize or provide a reason for being so late. I felt if I hadn't called, he wouldn't have been there. He looked around to assess our needs and seemed to know what to do. I asked for his price and he said he'd need to find out the cost of the wire and a breaker or something and would let me know the next day of his estimate. I volunteered my email address (he didn't ask for it). I also asked for a business card and he said they were ""in the truck"" . Huh ... a contractor not having his cards in his pocket ... OR even coming in with a clipboard or note pad? I gave him a piece of paper to make notes. I must say he was very nice, not rushed, but ""something was amiss"" - I can't put my finger on it. In any event, he never bothered to call back or write me with an estimate. A total waste of our time ... AND his. Just not professional in demeanor nor his appearance. My DH is a retired contractor and we were quite taken aback by the whole event.

I called Blackburn electric to get a quote for a fan installation. John was reasonably priced and came over the next day to take a look at the job. On his next visit he hooked up the electrical, installed a new wall switch and even hooked up the fan. Unfortunately, there was a defect in the fan and John was nice enough to take it apart and come back to setup up a new fan after we replaced the defected one. John was friendly, professional and cleaned up after the job was completed which is always appreciated. I am happy to recommend his work and will call him again if I need an Electrician.

Terrible. John no-showed me twice then disappeared with my keys. I left urgent voicemails, text messages and emails every day for two weeks and he would not respond. Finally I drove to his house and left a note that I would be back the following day to pick up my keys. He still would not return my messages but he left the keys on his doorstep.
