We were thrilled with finding Blackburn Electric to help us at our home. We have tricky wiring at our house, and both ourselves, and a general contractor who came out for something else couldn't successfully install new switches and gfi outlets. We had a ceiling fan installed as well, and he wired a fancy control for dimming and fan controls, too. we couldn't believe hoe quickly he did it!

John at Blackburn Electric is a diamond in the rough! I had my first experience with John last week and he completed several different tasks efficiently, competently, and at a reasonable price. He installed five electric wall heaters without incident, replaced several circuit breakers and changed out a phone jack. I intend to use John again and would not hesitate to refer my friends to him.

John is amazing. I had hard wired smoke detectors that were all beeping and needed to be replaced. I had taken five of them down months earlier and had just taken the last one down a few days before when it finally went bad. John replaced all of them and waited for them to recharge and stop beeping. After an hour, when the beeping didn't stop, he patiently went to each detector, testing it, listening, and eventually took them all down again. We flipped the circuit breaker, and he spent over two hours going in and out of my attic trying to address the problem. When I lost patience and wanted to give up, he stayed with it. I'm embarrassed to admit he finally realized I had placed an old detector in a box under a table and amazingly, that had started chirping the same time as my last smoke detector had gone kaput. I was furious with myself, humiliated, and could not believe I had just put this incredible man through four hours of work. He had come to my house at 4:30 and didn't leave until almost 8:30, and didn't charge me one cent of overtime or any extra because it was after hours. I will definitely use Blackburn again - I don't know any other electrician that would have stayed for as long as it took to solve my problem, even if it was my own stupidity!
