Founded in 1949 by the Jackson family, and has been a dependable provider of electrical and security services in West Alabama for over 65 years. Residential and commercial security services were first introduced as part of the electric company in 1953.

The year 1972 saw a new partner, Chuck Turner as a stakeholder of the electric company and expanded alarm system design and installation. By 1978 the splitting of the firm's protection offerings from the power division, and in the following year it became the dedicated security branch. During that year, JSS took over a local security firm in the Tuscaloosa area.

The year 1988 saw, Chuck Turner took ownership of both the power and protection services and merged the companies. The year 1992 marked, Turner's son, Brad was named as Vice President of Jackson Security Services, and the year 2000, he was hired as the VP and General Manager.

During 2014, Jackson Electric Services combined with a like-minded business in the Tuscaloosa area. At present, Jackson Security Services remains its dedication to service. He is still guiding the company as General Manager and Vice President.
