In 1949, Jackson Electric began by Tennis and Alma Jackson, and has been a reliable provider of power and security services in West Alabama for over six decades. Security offerings for homes and businesses were first introduced as part of the electrical services in the mid-20th century.

During 1972 Chuck Turner join as a stakeholder of Tennis Jackson Electric Company and developed intrusion detection design and implementation. In 1978 the splitting of the firm's safety solutions from the electric side, and in 1982 it became the dedicated security branch. That same year, JSS took over a competitor in security in Tuscaloosa.

In 1988, Turner acquired both the power and safety divisions and merged the companies. The year 1992 marked, Turner's son, Brad was designated Vice President of Jackson Security Services, and the year 2000, Essary was recruited as the General Manager and Vice President.

During 2014, Jackson Electric Services merged with a comparable firm in the local region. Today, Jackson Security Services remains its commitment to quality. Jim Essary continues to lead the company as the VP and General Manager.
