Jackson Electric was established by Tennis and Alma Jackson, and has been a reliable provider of power and protection services in the West Alabama region for over 65 years. Business and home security solutions were initiated as part of the power company in 1953.

During 1972 Chuck Turner as a co-owner of the electric company and enhanced security system design and installation. By 1978 the splitting of the firm's safety solutions from the electrical services, and in the following year it became JSS. That same year, JSS acquired a local security firm in the Tuscaloosa area.

The year 1988 saw, Chuck Turner purchased both the electrical and protection services and integrated the companies. The year 1992 marked, his son, Brad Turner was designated Vice President of Jackson Security Services, and in 2000, Jim Essary was recruited as the General Manager and Vice President.

The year 2014 marked, Jackson Electric Services merged with a like-minded business in the local region. Currently, Jackson Security Services continues its focus to excellence. He continues to lead the company as the VP and General Manager.
