In 1949, Jackson Electric began by Tennis and Alma Jackson, and has been a trusted provider of electric and protection services in West Alabama for over a generation. Business and home security solutions were launched as part of the electric company in the early 1950s.

During 1972 a new partner, Chuck Turner as a co-owner of Tennis Jackson Electric Company and developed security system design and installation. By 1978 the splitting of the firm's security services from the electrical services, and in 1982 it became JSS. In that same year, JSS acquired a competitor in security in Tuscaloosa, Alabama.

The year 1988 saw, Turner acquired both the power and security services and merged the companies. In 1992, Turner's son, Brad was appointed as Vice President of Jackson Security Services, and by 2000, Essary was recruited as the General Manager and Vice President.

In 2014, Jackson Electric Services combined with a like-minded business in the Tuscaloosa vicinity. At present, Jackson Security Services carries on its commitment to quality. He remains at the helm the company as the VP and General Manager.
