I'm about a year and a half late in writing this review. What can I say; it's been a hectic 18 months....

Isaias and Co. completed a handful of projects for us at 2 properties in the Mission/Castro/Noe area. The crew installed exterior lighting, including some long conduit runs and fixtures, tied up some old knob and tube and installed several interior fixtures. They did some other odds and ends as well, but I can't remember exactly what. I'm thinking of having them bid on some electrical panel work, as well. I'm sure they would have no problem with that, either.

In short, Isaias and Co. did their work quickly, efficiently, CORRECTLY and at an affordable price. I have nothing negative to say about any of them. They're very good electricians, and I recommend them without reservation.

I was looking to fix a broken bathroom exhaust fan.

Monday - emailed Ike's Electric using their site. Ike called me back the next day - asked me a few questions and quoted a $300 repair (he said the motor & bearings probably needed replacing). Said he was available the next day to to the work. I told him that I'd get back to him.

Weds late afternoon - I call and leave a message asking if he can fix it the next day. He calls me back and tells me he'll be at my place Thursday at 10 am.

Ike showed up a few minutes after 10 am and quickly took the old motor out. And went out to get a replacement. Calls me back in about an hour saying he has the new part and can come back and install it (and a new cover).

Checks to make sure the proper voltage is getting to the unit and finishes installing the new fan.

Total time in my loft: approx. 40 mins across 2 visits.

Total cost of the repair: $90 parts + $140 labor = $230.

Now that I've seen the unit and how easy it is to take it out, next time the motor craps out, I'll probably take it out myself and find a retailer for the new motor.

But Ike was a professional, courteous and informative throughout the entire process.

Great work, on time & reasonable cost!

A light switch that was replaced as part of original job broke. It was not Ike's Electric's fault, just a bum part. They were out promptly to replace it the next day w/ no complaints. Great again!

We used Ike's Electric to do some electrical work in our building. This is a family run business that take great pride in their work. Isaias did a fantastic job. He was very professional throughout the entire process. I highly recommend them.

They communicated with me throughout the entire job. They called me straight away to set up a time to give me a free estimate, they came by the next day and emailed me out the estimate the following day. Isaias clearly explained the work he was doing and gave me regular updates throughout the duration of the job.

They were very conscientious about cleaning up and making sure that all our equipment was working correctly after the job was completed.

They fixed wiring the the previous contractor had left in a complete mess. Now all our building lighting and power works correctly and it also looks great.

Isaias from Ike's Electric came to fix a wiring problem that surfaced when we tried to install a new ceiling lamp. He returned our call promptly and was there an hour later, quickly diagnosed the problem, corrected the wiring, and installed the lamp all within just about 45 minutes. He was very professional and curteous and very reasonably priced. I highly recommend him.

Ike's son came over the other day to estimate how much it would cost to install a security light above our garage and help figure out why our front porch light would no longer turn on. With respect to the front porch light, I informed him that I had already checked the inner wiring and it seemed to be dead. I feared that they would need to open up the wall to find the root cause of the problem. Instead, Ike's first checked the light bulb! Why I didn't think of that....well, I didn't. Turns out it was the light bulb and that sometimes in the older houses the current at the switch appears ""dead"" if the bulb at the other end is no good. I asked how much it would be and was told, ""no worries"". The service and helpfulness were very much appreciated.

I've been meaning to give Ike's a stellar review for months now.

When the bathroom lights in my apartment decided to turn on and off without my assistance (nothing like showering in the dark), I called Ike and his team. They quickly identified the problem: heat-activated light switches and steamy bathrooms don't mix. Obvious to most, but apparently not clear to the previous resident. Ike installed a new light switch and the problem resolved.

More recently I called Ike's because the lamps in my front hall were flickering. Once again, Ike's quickly identified the problem: I was using energy efficient light bulbs with a dimmer switch. Apparently this is a no-no. The electrician laughed, pushed the dimmer to the max, the lights came on, and the flickering was gone. When I asked ""how much?"" He replied, ""Don't worry about it.'' and was out the door.

I love these guys.
