A very shady company with dishonest business tactics - beware and stay away at all costs!!! A few years ago, it used to be a good company and we used it at least 6-8 times since 2017, but now ONLY profit matters to them. The plumber arrived at our residence and tried to sell us over $5,000 in services and projects before completing the job that he was hired for. Additionally, he did only a half of the work correctly (because he was BS-ing half of the time), which resulted in us hiring another company. $260 in the drain! The operator tried to blame us for lack of maintenance and tried to sell us the same services. I thought that this was a plumbing, air, and heating not a car dealership. One we talked to their supervisor, the same story... PLEASE DO NOT GIVE YOUR MONEY TO THIS COMPANY! DO NOT DO ANY BUSINESS WITH THEM!

This is an update on my review from a couple weeks ago. Joel, whom I am guessing is a manager/supervisor, called to apologize for my experience and stated that he misunderstood the service person who looked at my job and the quote he gave me was too much. Joel did refund the $59 trip charge for my quote. As previously mentioned I have used Ideal Plumbing for over 35 years and I will be willing to try them again when I need a plumbing repair done. Thank you Joel for your follow up and the refund.

Our 30+ year old air conditioner went out last weekend during the heat wave. I called Ideal Monday morning at 8:00am. They were booked up, but promised to try to squeeze us in. Lars, their wonderful technician, repaired the problem (a capacitor) and checked out the whole system. Our house was cool by 11:00am! As Lars left, he said we should be good for another 5 years! We had been afraid that the whole unit would need to be replaced. We have been customers with Ideal for many years and are thankful that we can confidently call on them for any of our electrical, plumbing, heating or air conditioning needs.

Very shady and dishonest billing tactics - beware! I asked for a quote before a continuation of service, the operator Roseanne stated it would be Time and Material, time being $156/hr. I was then charged $200 for $70 worth of materials - a single 10ft 4in ABS pipe and 2 no hub bands. The pipe had a scannable barcode showing it was $50 at Home Depot and Lowe's. Ideal is charging a 285% markup on materials, and when I called them about it, they used excuses like ""the pipe cost $112"" (but couldn't tell me where, or why that's 2x+ retail) and that they factor in ""procurement, material management, and best quality"" to justify the outrageous charge. They tried to cover up this practice by offering a $50 refund... which would still represent a 200% markup on materials.

In reality, I know they marked up my bill because they saw a young woman and thought I'd be an easy mark. If you're looking for a company with integrity and reasonable prices, go anywhere else. I am disappointed not only by how I was billed but also by the follow-up responses from the entire team.

I HIGHLY RECOMMEND Ideal Plumbing & Heating. We have had them to our home on numerous occasions. About one year ago, we had a very slow drain in the guest bathroom sink. We went with the bargain company that has cutesy advertising and has special hand coverings. What a huge mistake that was! They came out and were unable to clear the drain. The technician said they would have to go through the pipes with a camera and possibly demolish some inner house walls to clear the drain. So we sought a 2nd opinion and called Ideal Plumbing. This was the smartest thing we could have done. The plumber came out and used the proper technique to completely clear the drain without any camerawork or damage to pipes or walls. More recently, on October 11-12, Dan D. and his team from Ideal Plumbing & Heating replaced our old ducting in the attic with high-quality ducting. During the past month, we have had opportunity in La Mesa to test out the ducting with both the AC and heating. The system has worked flawlessly and I can hear that there is less strain on the furnace blower now. Dan loves his job and is very detailed which we appreciate. PLEASE heed my plea and go with Ideal Plumbing & Heating for all of your needs. They are not the cheapest professionals, but they do the job expertly and with quality materials at a fair price. And by the way, they are friendly, polite, and courteous.
