Let me start by saying it is not easy to find a good handyman in this city. I requested quotes from over a dozen handymen, Oscar not only had the best price, but was also very thorough from the beginning. He asked for more information, photos, etc a gave me a specific quote for how long it would take and also responded quickly!

He was booked out 3 weeks, but this was a small job as I was not in a rush. (It speaks to his high quality work that his only bad reviews are people he didn't do work for).

The night before our appointment, he texted to confirm. Oscar arrived today to do the job (he was running 10 minutes late but gave me plenty of advanced notice). He was polite, knowledgeable, and a great handyman. We needed a wall, 2 doors, and the door frames patched and repainted as our Dog had scratched it all up during training. He did the work very well in 2 quick hours, was quiet and kind, and it looks as good as new!

Plus, my dog does not like strangers and is usually very afraid, but he loved Oscar! That's a glowing recommendation on its own.

Ok so this Oscar person is the most unprofessional, rude handyman ever. I contacted him about replacing a laundry sink and he assured me that he could do it. After weeks and weeks of delay, he finally stopped responding to my messages?!!!

Who conducts business like this? He is RUDE and INCONSIDERATE!

I am NOT begging for the work to be done, I was PAYING for it. All Oscar had to say is a simple Yes or No and stick to his work. According to my experience with him, I DO NOT recommend him, because no paying customer deserves to be treated as a BEGGAR!

We've used Oscar for years as a handyman for various jobs around the house. He also did the bathroom in my condo that I rent out for a very reasonable price and excellent quality.
I especially appreciated when he was honest about what he could do himself and when he had to bring in a specialist to handle something and how much that would cost. Too many contractors try to hide their levels of ""expertise"" and by then it's too late to do anything. But Oscar is always very honest and direct about all aspects of the job.
Of course now that everyone knows how good he is, he's become very popular and scheduling him can now be a challenge.

I needed someone to paint my one bedroom apartment and Oscar responded quickly, came by my place that week for the estimate and gave me an amazing rate. The new paint was finished in a day and looks beautiful! He even was able to cut holes in the wall behind my mounted flatscreen TV to hide the cables which were a huge eyesore. Very nice and friendly guy. Would definitely be calling him again for any needed home repairs or touch ups

Oscar is a great handyman. After calling at least 10 others who never returned a call or weren't available for weeks, I found Oscar on Yelp. He was extremely easy to schedule with, responsive via email, phone and text. He came out to do the job quickly, charged a reasonable rate, and did a great job. Since then, he's been our regular handyman and done things like install smoke detectors, rehang doors, adjust stuck doors, change light fixtures, re-silicone bathtubs - pretty much everything we've needed. He's always on time, pleasant, and just really easy to work with - which is hard to find in the home improvement space. So although I fear that the more fabulous reviews he gets, the busier he'll get - I just can't help but share about how great he is!

Oscar is the best. Highly skilled, smart, funny, responsible, hard-working, honest. You could not find anyone better to do your project. Oscar has a wide and deep skill set. He can accomplish a major carpentry project such as deck or small addition or swap out your water heater. He's the best.

Oscar is so great! He was fast, thoughtful and just a really nice person. One of the pieces of furniture that I had (diaper changing table) had a crack in it and he immediately came and told me before he started to build it. I appreciated his honesty and the heads up. He also told me to take a picture of it and and put in a complaint to amazon.com (which is where I purchased the piece from). He is really great. Definitely will call him again!

PS - He is VERY polite. Took off his shoes before he entered my apartment. Asked me before he touched anything or went into any room. These are little things but they can go a long way! He's just a really solid person!

Oscar is the consummate professional who performs his services efficiently and in a high quality, friendly manner. If you happen to have a ""honey do"" punch list that just never seems to get done (like I did), Oscar is your man! He can install light fixtures, hang mirrors, paint a wall, replace a toilet, build a deck, and even put together your daughter's new red wagon (she still thinks I did it). My wife and daughter are very happy that I finally called Oscar, and you will be too!
