Dan Griffin, who serves as President and Chief Executive Officer, began his professional path in 1971 as a material handler with the IBEW 340 union. The subsequent year, he became an Electricians apprentice. By 1981, he secured his contractor's license and founded Griffin Electric, Inc. in 1984, providing the Greater Sacramento area with skilled, honest electricians.

Dan has spent over 40 years in the Greater Sacramento area and has been practicing as an electrician for more than 34 years. Together with his team of skilled electricians, he is dedicated to the community's residents and businesses. Had a late night Friday situation where half the master bedroom outlets stopped working after we unplugged a surge protector. Griffin Electric was able to send someone over first thing Saturday morning. He was able to figure out the the cause and replace the problematic outlet in a timely manner and no time was wasted. Amazing...I had an electrical work wish list which included garage wiring and lighting, garage outlet, outdoor patio outlet, doorbell, and bathroom light fixture installation...in my old house. I communicated with Elisa, Dispatch Supervisor, electrician came and reviewed the work needed, Elisa created a contract, I copied and signed it and delivered it, work was scheduled for today, and within one week it is completed! My electrician, Nhia, was outstanding...prompt, thorough, efficient, knowledgeable, skilled, friendly and personable, worked non-stop, and ever so patient with my questions...included me on decision making. I can't express enough my gratitude. I no longer have to do laundry by flashlight. I have a new working doorbell. I love the bathroom fixture, and the outdoor outlet. Wow. Just wow. I called this company up after hours left a message with there answering service said they would return my call the next day.Well they never called so i thought maybe the message did not get to them gave them the benefit of the dought. I called them at 11:00 the next day the lady that answered the phone said she got my message but was scheduling jobs at the moment and would call me back and she was very rude. she never called me back so i called again at 3:30 to let her know to take me off the list because of very poor customer service but nobody answered but i did leave a message. 3 day's later i get a call from her she said i know it has been a few day's but wanted see if i still needed work apparently she dose not listen to messages either. I then went on very nicely to tell her no and why and she was very rude again and slammed the phone down on me for no reason. very piss poor service !! these are the kind of companies that will survive in these times because of covid everybody is slammed with work! But when the economy takes a hit and it will at some point these kind of companies will be out of business !! she needs to be fired with that attitude!!

used Griffin once before and was very happy. This time I needed an existing 220 line split into two 110's.

A simple job requiring 2.5 hours of labor, two circuit breakers to change the 220 into two 110 lines, about 10 feet of romex, and the parts to create an outlet.

I was quoted approximately $1400 for the job! I called to question it, but was told the owner was out sick and only he could adjust the quote. I waited about a week and still no owner. Sadly, I boxed myself in, because of scheduling and had to have Griffin do the work for the $1400.

Although I asked, I never heard from the owner. I know I chose to have them do the work, even though the bill seemed incredibly high. I jammed myself into a corner. My real complaint is that no one responded to what should have been a simple adjustment. They got my money, but lost my business...

I find it shady that one of their employees did work for my mother and offered her a 'senior discount', but it would only be honored if he could take a photo of her driver's license with his phone (personal? work phone? your guess is as good as mine.) My mother is in her 80's, there was no need to look at her driver's license, let alone take a photo of it. I emailed the company and expressed my concern over customer privacy, was this a work-assigned phone, and personal phone, what are you doing with the photos? Why even take photos? How do I know my mother's driver's license, DOB and other information is secure.

There is no need to take a customer's driver's license photo and store customer's private information. The technician, Ron Davison, could have easily taken a headshot photo of my mother, and there would be no question, the customer is a senior citizen.

Great job by Brandon! I live in an old quirky house. Brandon came out promptly, wired a new outlet for the dishwasher and checked other multiple issues as requested, all for a reasonable price. In addition, I'm the ""do it yourselfer"" in our family (middle-aged female). Brandon realized this, acknowledged it without prompting, and then explained things to me like a peer. I know enough about wiring and switches to get myself zapped big time. I bought several smart switches and wanted to install them. After what seemed like hours on youtube trying to figure out all the wires coming out of my light fixture I called Griffin on a recommendation of a friend. Paul Fallgreen came out quickly, and on time. I explained my issue and and asked a ton of questions. He showed me that I had the wrong switches for where I wanted to put them, but he did wire one up on a circuit that would work for my switch. He then showed me how to wire up 3 pole switches for when I got them. He was funny and very informative. I never felt that I was being talked down to at all. I rather enjoyed his visit. Now Paul could have installed the switch and left, but he really took the time to help me out and saved me a lot of money. He only charged me the minimum service call and was on his way. I am very happy with his service and would highly recommend them.

PS at time of this review thanks to Pauls advise my house is all wired up with smart switches and the ladies in my house can now turn on lights before they get home at night.
