Brad Gill is a second-gen owner/operator at Gill's Electric. Born Piedmont and presently residing in Contra Costa County, Brad is an experienced business owner, electrician, estimator, and project manager, who got his start in this industry through the electrical apprenticeship program and progressed through local electrical contracting firms, occupying various titles. Brad's two daughters came on board Gill's Electric in the early 2000s, and have both built careers at the family business, where they value serving the local community through great service.

Not recommended-Does not complete work as promised.
We hired Gill's electric to replace a major portion of our electrical system in our home. They showed up a few times after we hired them, then the communication completely stopped for several months and no one showed up. We kept calling the receptionist at their office, but there were no return phone calls to us. We had given them a lot of money up front, and we were very concerned.
Finally we contacted the consumer show ""7 on your side"". They advised us that we might need to get a lawyer. When we called Gill's again and told them we were going to get an attorney involved, they finally came back out to finish the work.
The work itself was very sloppy. They put power outlets in crooked, they made a terrible mess of our wall and didn't patch it, they also did a terrible job replacing the cement they cut into. To make matters worse, they dumped leftover plaster and cement into our plants and garden.
The terrible communication coupled with sloppy workmanship makes for a very unprofessional company. We will never use them again.

I wish I could give this a 0. Everything about our interactions were awful. An electrical circuit shorted in one corner of the house and we called gill's. A technician came out, and spent two hours and couldn't find out what was wrong. What was most annoying was the technician told me (to my face) he could have figured out what was wrong if he had brought the right tools. And he said he didn't bring the correct tools because he had just assumed it would be a small problem! And then he proceeded to charge us $300 for looking for a problem he couldn't find because he was too lazy to bring his tools!
When we got the bill, I called the office to tell them how we wanted the short fixed. The receptionist said she would have an electrician call me back. Well that call never came, but another bill with late fees did come. When we called again, Gill's said they would have an electrician call us back. Then we got another bill with even more late fees, and when we called again the receptionist said she had no recollection about us asking to talk to an electrician to get the problem fixed. There is a total lack of communication between the office and electricians. The receptionist even had the nerve to say we were at fault for never responding. Trust me, we called and emailed dozens of times and there was still no resolution made by gill's.
This is the worst company I've ever worked with. We will be looking for a new electrician to fix the short.
Update: I finally settled the bill with Gill's. But that was after the receptionist told me that because I was a women I would not be able to understand electrics. And that meant that I could not complain about how they run their business. She also started bad mouthing my co-manager when we were working out the bill. To bad mouth your customer and to be sexist is not a way to run a successful business.

Very pleased with the response and service I got from Gill's Electric. Called and needed an electrician the next day. The dispatcher was great and promised to send someone out in the morning. He came within the window promised to take a look. Charlie was great, very professional, knowledgable and honest. We discussed my options, and he explained everything clearly. He took a look at the problem and agreed that a conservative approach was best. I felt he was very honest and straightforward with me which is so important. Saved me a ton of money, but more importantly gave me peace of mind. Charlie and Gill's were great. Would definitely call on them again.

Yesterday I called Gill's for an appointment for an unsafe kitchen outlet and was told ""someone would call me back this afternoon or first thing in the morning with an appointment."" I have not yet been called.
Gill's have been my go-to electrician for my own home and for my rental property.
But not any longer. this is the second time this year this happened with this company. I would recommend looking elsewhere for service.

Charged double for the work done. Electrician worked 45 minutes. Charged a total of 1.5 hours at a rate of $139.50/hr including 45 minutes of travel time to travel THREE (3) miles from the neighboring city where he claims he was going to be coming from, in additional to parking fees when it is free to park on the street.

bad service! My father in law was told 8-12. It was past the time and I called the office and the receptionist picked up said my father in law reschedule due to the fact he's an old man who doesn't wake up till the afternoon so they rescheduled his Appt from 12-4. My father in law never called to reschedule and when he called this morning at 1130 he was told that it isn't 12 yet. The receptionist was rude and gave the phone to another lady which then said the receptionist mis-informed me as the receptionist had just got to work and wouldn't have known that. When I told her that we would go with someone else she suggested we should and I should get my facts straight. I was only going based on what the receptionist told me. Not very good customer service! My father in law wouldn't have rescheduled for a later time because he leaves to pick up my mother in law.

I cannot say enough good about this company. Recently we needed an electrician at our home and Gills took such good care of us. We had an issue and it was late in the day so I didn't want to end up without any electricity in the evening. Gills sent out the electrician who was at our home quickly and he was was nothing but professional, polite and clearly knew what he was doing because he had us repaired and up in no time. I would only call Gills for anything electrical and I highly recommend them. I've tried other electrical companies but no one has provided the service nor courteous professionalism that Gills extended us. Thank you Gills !!

They are rock stars. Our electricity went out in our house while we were away in Europe and they came out and fixed the problem before we got home. I would definitely use them again.

I needed an electrician to get the power back on in a hurry at my Mom and Dad's home, so I called Gill's based off a recommendation from a coworker. I was really impressed with how fast and knowledgeable their staff and electricians were. They diagnosed my parents' problem and had their power back on within about an hour. Phew! The price was reasonable and the entire process was just so easy compared to what I was afraid would be a long and scary one (power outages are never fun to deal with!!)
