Recommended Customer Reviews

I work in property management and Gill's always scores high when it really counts. This last time around, it was a rainy day and most of our regular vendors were already overbooked. Gill's came through for one of our Nail Salon Tenants that had the electricity out in 1/2 their suite. Victoria was able to schedule Sean to go out within a few hours. He diagnosed the problem quickly and got the parts ordered. The Spa was up and running again shortly afterwards. Later, when I needed to send a report to the Landlord, both Victoria and Sean gave me exactly what I needed, in detail. They were extremely patient and helpful. They are on our PREFERRED Vendor List with good reason! Thanks guys!!

I called in with half my kitchen appliances conked off. Not knowing much about household electric troubleshooting I ended up calling Gill's rightaway. Victoria guided me through finding and reseting my circuit breakers and probably helped me save some money by not calling in an electrician when not needed. She also helped me understand probable causes, remedies and permanent fixes. Great experience!
Thanks Victoria

If only I could give GIll's Electric 0 stars. The 5 star reviews are obviously employees writing bogus reviews or clients with exceptionally low expectations.
I contacted their estimator Zech back in June of 2017. He was very helpful at the time and scheduled an electrician to come out promptly. The work was more involved, so he had to reschedule, then reschedule, then reschedule. I called weekly for 4 months; sometimes he would pick up but mostly he would ignore my calls. I'm not high maintenance, I just wanted the work done and was willing to pay whatever it cost.
I stopped calling back in November and today I received a bill for $500+ which included two late charges. Not sure what's going on, but I will never recommend then to anyone. You're better off trying to do the electrical yourself.

In Nov 2017 I contacted Gills for a substantial upgrade / repair job at my apartment building. I was told I had to pay for a bid, but the money would be credited on the job. I accepted the terms and on 12/7/17 I met with Sean, a non manager. I Spent over an hour going over the work needed and discussed same. By 12/26/2017 there was no response from Gills Electric. I called and complained about being charged, but no bid, no follow up. I was contacted by Keith. Had to basically go over what I needed. He didn't get it and he didn't listen. He contacted an outside lighting consultant, whom I met with, and we discussed the additional security lighting, suggestions, etc. Note, this still didn't address all the electric I still needed. Several weeks later I contacted the lighting consultant that Keith still hasn't responded. The lighting consultant found out Keith was no longer with Gills Electric and she emailed Gregg regarding this issue. Feb 28, 2018 and Guess What, still no response. If I could give negative stars I would. I still haven't been refunded my money for a bid I never received. Beware, this company will take your money but you will not receive any service.

Last year I had a problem with an overheating light switch. I called Gill's Electric, among other companies, left a voicemail message with my name and address and never received a call back. About 4 months later, I received a telephone call from an employee of Gill's electric, trying to verify the time and date he should be at my house. I explained that this was an error, because my brother fixed the problem months ago. They sent me a bill 6 months later for services rendered, in the amount of $159.50 and sent a second bill this month charging me interest on ""my account "". I called this morning and said that they sent me a bogus bill. What I received in return was a snotty, full of attitude person, who cut me off in mid sentence. They never came to my house...Never did any work for me, but thought it ok to send me a bill for their phantom work and then had to deal with their receptionist/operator from hell. She needs serious education in customer service.
Addendum: at 11:00 am today, Meghan Gill telephoned and after telling me that they would have to charge me for a canceled appt., finally relented after I repeatedly said there never was an an appointment (didn't really believe me, because they couldn't possibly make mistakes) and cleared the non-existent account. Concerning the rude receptionist/operator, she said that I ""came on strong"", so that was why that person was rude. Maybe in their book it's ok to charge someone $159.50, plus interest, for NO REASON, but I feel that it may give me a bit of latitude in ""coming on strong"". And no, I would never use these people for any electrical work.

Excellent customer service, good work, fair pricing, everything you could ask for in an electrician! I talked to several companies who were too busy for months to take in new work (must be very small staff), others who couldn't give a firm price, etc. Finally, found Gil's. Greg was great to work with. Will definitely recommend and use again.

Not very satisfied, scheduling issues quality issues, for a small business no one knows what the Electricians are doing. The Electricians spend half the time on the phone or getting their tools then work for fifteen minutes get another call etc...

I had them come out to change a light switch that took about 5 mins and had them take a look at re-wiring my home and was charged $243. They failed to tell me that having an electrician do the ""free"" estimate was actually over $150. They have also not returned my calls or responded to my email. Too bad they nickel and dime me became they lost out on rewiring my whole home. I will now use the competitors and tell them the story.

I had a long list of small jobs. Most electricians were too busy to bother with it. I called Gill's and was pleasantly surprised. The person I spoke to was extremely helpful and was able to schedule an appointment just a few days out. The electrician, James Hamilton, was the best electrician I have ever used. Knew exactly how to approach the jobs, was very professional, and extremely efficient. He completed the job in much less time that I anticipated, and left no mess behind.

If only there were 6 stars. I have used Gill's Electric for 6 years now, spanning two homes, and each time I have called on them I have been increasingly impressed with their skill, professionalism, reliability, and customer service (also: this review is long overdue!). I have used Gill's to install light fixtures in both of my homes--and still gratefully remember the patience of the electrician as he carefully unwrapped and hung each individual crystal of the chandelier I had ordered for my first home. They have also come to fix faulty outlets, and just recently went over the top for me when I made an after hours consultation call. They talked me through my questions, even gave me a call back number after hours if I needed more help, and fit me into their booked schedule the very next day to resolve the issue.
I mean, seriously. If you typed ""electrician"" in the search bar, congratulations! You're home. Call Gill's.
