This is the second time we have hired this business to remove old and install new pendant lights, chandeliers, flush mounts and sconces. I am very pleased with this company; very knowledgeable, courteous and customer service oriented electricians and office personnel. They go above and beyond. He is the most knowledgeable and professional electrician I have ever seen.
1. The electrician waited for me for 30 minutes. He kept his patience. During this period, he figured out the underground location of PG&E equipment. He is the only one who achieved it.
2. The electrician always wore the uniform.
3. The electrician answered my questions professionally. He showed his knowledge and experience.

I've had varied experiences with their estimators and service, but overall they do good work.

We first worked with them a couple years ago to update 10+ outlets & smart switches. They also replaced old security lights around our house with new ones, a mix of updated motion-activated flood lights and smart security flood lights. Overall good, but I did notice some sloppy caulk work on some of the flood lights that I cleaned up later. The guys they sent were courteous and professional.

We also had them back to install a wired Eufy doorbell camera, which required some planning to ensure that it could be hooked up to both a power source and Ethernet. The team did a great job, listened to our needs around placement, patched up the walls where they drilled, and cleaned up afterwards. That said, of course they're not patch pros, but luckily we were planning on bringing painters in anyway.

I've gotten a couple other estimates from them for other work, but decided not to go with them because their prices are usually the highest quote. The most egregious estimate (and hard sell) I got was for upgrading our sub panels. They were the first ones I talked to and the estimator quoted around 5k-6k total. I immediately didn't feel great about needing to put down a check deposit & the price and cancelled the next day. We did end up upgrading our sub-panels for half that with another electrician at a more reasonable price.

That said, these guys are experienced professionals and obviously run a tight ship; good booking software, good web presence, lots of availability and expertise--I'd imagine the overheard requires that sort of markup to keep things chugging along.

I got these guys to install recess lights in my living rooms in 2023 January. They took at least 3 rounds of trips to get it really done, every day they will make a mess and promise to come back late and fix. This does not include the times they come for measurement etc.
First day they spent a minimum of half a day to wire up a fan, not a fancy fan, simple straightforward fan.
In between adding recess lights they changed a switch which had no issues and it stopped turning off - the light will stay on 24 hours a day.
One dimmer switch they installed will not dim the light.
After working on new switches for dimmer, they left lot of patches I had to call a painter to patch things. I am not talking about small around the areas of switchboard.
Even before fixing all these issues, they will demand to get paid without doing all the work.

Today I am writing this review in 2024 Jan since they sent an email saying I need to pay around 121$, I had paid whole amount last year.

Most annoying of all, adding 5 stars in the beginning of all their emails.

This group is amazing . Our estimator , Alex , showed up right on time, reviewed our project and took pictures and video. He walked us through several options and had great communication with regards to follow up. Our technicians, Isaac and Chris who did an amazing job installing our Ev breaker and charger setup. Their work was terrific. It isn't often you get such amazing service and feel like a company truly cares about your project. I highly recommend Five or Free Electrical Solutions for any job you may have.

The team from Five or Free was fantastic! Alex came and surveyed my house and found that my sub-panel needed to be replaced and was a huge hazard. Evan and Eddie completed the job in one day and left my garage cleaner than it was before they came. Great work!

I must say that the three jobs that they have done in the past have been nothing short of perfection. I decided to try Five or Free for some electrical work I needed in my garage and also in our bedrooms. I was adding several light fixtures and also adding an electrical outlet in the garage. For the cost of the work performed, I felt they did an adequate job, but I was not impressed with their organization or follow up.

I had to correct an invoice as they did not remove an item that the on-site electrician stated was not needed. If I hadn't caught that, I would have been over charged.

I also had to follow up on the permitting process to make sure that this was all done according to code and filed with the city. I feel like they should have been more proactive in making sure that this was communicated and scheduled accordingly.

Finally, there was a switch that was not installed correctly and had to be corrected by a follow up visit which took a couple of months after the initial work.

I don't mind paying a little more for high quality work and good communication, but I feel they fell a little short in both of these areas.
