I've used Fighting Amish Electric for projects on my 110 year old building exclusively over the past 3 years or so. Can't believe I haven't reviewed them yet! So, for what it's worth, here goes:
No one's even come close to the expertise, integrity, and honesty on display by the FA team. They descended on my first electrical project like a ruthlessly efficient SWAT team during execution time; prior to that, Daan was able to explain to me the complexities of the knob and tube wiring all around the building in layman's terms, gave me many options as to the extent of the work that could be done within budgets and was thorough with the evaluation and execution. Yes, they're perhaps not as available for smaller projects because they're a small outfit, but they truly are the electrical A-team around these parts. I will absolutely not trust anyone else to handle the electric circuits around this property other than the FA team, even if it means I have to wait a few extra months for availability!

The wonderfully-named Fighting Amish electricians have been a joy.

We needed the knob-and-tube wiring in our hundred-year-old house replaced. They came and gave us a bid. It's an expensive process, but they stayed within the bid they offered - no ""Oh by the way"" additional charges.

The Fighting Amish crew were a pleasure to have around. Annie our dog looked forward to them arriving each day, and so did we. They were quiet, competent, good-humored, and fast-working. They offered suggestions and asked us what we wanted. Every night before they left they cleaned up their entire workspace. They were good guests. They also handled permitting and interfaced with PGE.

Three of our neighbors have now hired them, and were as pleased as we are. We would certainly recommend them.

I hired Fighting Amish Electric to do a install 35 smart light switches in my house, replacing traditional switches. It was surprisingly hard to find an electrician that would even respond to my messages. I even had one that scheduled an appointment and then didn't show up. Fighting Amish had the best and most clear communication of anyone I talked to. I spoke with Inder, who gave me a detailed overview of what the work I was requesting would require and a rough estimate of the effort and cost. I felt confident that I wanted to proceed with them.

The work was done in one day by Ted, Mike, and Max. Inder also stopped by at the start of the job to go over everything they were going to do. The team was friendly and efficient. The job ended up taking about twice as long as was originally estimated, but I expected that and it was no problem. The team was also helpful in troubleshooting a few other miscellaneous issues for me. I'm going to have them back to do a few more tasks in the near future, including installing a smart doorbell.

Thanks, Fighting Amish! I'm happy to have found a great team of electricians I can rely on in the future.

FAE put in a few new circuits and replaced outdated utility lights. They did a great job advising on options and then carrying out the work. The work was professionally done. Very impressed with the workmanship.

Fighting Amish were great to work with. They responded quickly, came over to check everything out in person and gave me a complete listing of all our options. I manage a building with a studio and 2 rental units, so there was a lot to consider as we wanted to change out our old Federal Pacific electrical panel. They were able to do it quickly (it happened to fall in between holidays and was easy to schedule), within a 4 hour time period and explained what we can do in the future for other electrical issues. Love these guys. Quick, efficient, smart, friendly and thorough. Hooray for these Amish!

Inder came to the house to see about upgrading an old 120v outlet to 240v, so we could replace our gas range with an electric one. Nice enough. Cute story about company name. He spent 30-40 minutes figuring out a path from our electrical panel through the garage and into the kitchen wall. Said he'd get me a quote in a week, and if I hadn't heard from him to send a reminder.

A week went by. Fine. Then two. Okay. After three weeks I sent him a gentle reminder--I actually called it that in my very cordial email--that I was still waiting. No reply. More weeks went by. Now months. Never so much as acknowledged my email. Why he came to the house in the first place is beyond me. Waste of everyone's time.

In conclusion: I found someone else to do the job. Doesn't have a cute name, but he actually responds.

Super helpful and responsive! Had a question about a busted switch/controller for a bathroom light and fan. Heard back in less than 30 min.

I hired Fighting Amish Electric to rewire a house built in 1921 with a mixture of older and newer wiring. Daan asked about what I wanted, listened to my answers, gave me a clear understanding of what to expect, and the did what he said they would do, on time. I couldn't ask for more.

The only issue I had was that one of the circuit breakers would trip when I used one of my appliances. This is apparently a common issue with arc fault breakers, and they had warned me it would happen. They replaced it free of charge and I haven't had any issues since (now 4 years later).

I've also re-hired them for another, smaller job, and was not disappointed. Highly recommended.

We have a house that needed a total rewire. The house was built in 1927, and much of the system is original, with some updates over the years, so there was a mix of fuses, circuit breakers, rooms with only two ungrounded outlets in them, etc.

Fighting Amish provided the most detailed bid. They were the only electricians recommended by an electrician and a friend who dealt with several electricians. We had some lower quotes, but Fighting Amish had a full crew ready to go and we felt the most confident in their work. We also felt we were less likely to be surprised by extra costs, as they were the most thorough in checking out the house before making a bid.

Having people working on your house can feel invasive- but we found the crew worked really well together and we liked them being around. They were considerate about not letting our cats get out. The work was all neatly done and so far everything works well. They got their work done on the early end of what they predicted.

Another thing we appreciated was their daily communication. They let us know when they would be there, what they needed access to, and so on.

I feel really good about our decision to hire Fighting Amish.
