Eleanor A.Great, fast service. Highly recommend. They solved the problem with our electrical panel in 15 minutes.
Aldan B.We have used Estes maintenance and repair services for a few years now. The last couple visits, we have been overcharged for Freon. The first overcharge was when a representative told me that we needed 4-5 lbs of freon. I asked to watch him install the freon and it ended up being just under 1lbs needed. We still got an invoice for 2 lbs of freon (It's $143/lbs). The second time they came out my wife was the only one home and the rep (Jose) stated that he would need to check the outside unit to see if it was low on freon. My wife said, ""ok"" and we then received a $430 invoice for an alleged 3 lbs of freon. I called the rep and he admitted to having installed less than 3lbs but, stated that they ""round up"" . I'm done with Estes. For not asking if we approved for Freon to be installed and for ""rounding up"" on us. Don't trust them.
I have been using ESTES for over 5 years for servicing by home HVAC system. They are extremely timely, always find a way to fit me in on their schedule, and, even more importantly, they can be trusted. I have had technicians come to service my unit and in some cases don't charge me. They tell me the truth about what is wrong and do not try to sell me unnecessary parts and repairs. I recently used them and the technician told me that problem was something the previous technician forgot to do (it was an easy mistake and nobody is perfect and it was not a big deal). I appreciate the honesty in saying it was something that had nothing to do with my system and I would not be charged instead of trying to get me to pay money for a fix. They are little pricey than some but I know I save money from the honest, professional customer service provided.
Samuel P.I have been using ESTES for four years, and couldn't be any happier. It has been easy to schedule visits and check ups of the systems that I have contract with. Whenever there is an issue with electric, AC, Heat or plumbing, they have been prompt in getting out to my homes to take care of the issue. Most recently I was impressed by my AC technician Erick, who came out and thoroughly went through taking care of all things needed to ensure proper functioning of my AC for Spring/Summer. He cleaned coils, replaced capacitors, and did numerous other things. I very much appreciated the conversation he provided when it came to replacing parts that needed to be replaced due to natural wear and tear. his patience with my questions was much appreciated. I have always had amazing experiences around quality work and preventative services with ESTES and cannot recommend them enough.
Damaged our hardwood floors because a leak they caused by humidifier installed without a safety switch.
Over $5,000 worth of damages that they agreed was their fault and would correct.
That was January 30th and almost 2 months later we are still getting the run around.
Called several times to get pricing on service programs for 2 large commercial buildings and no one could be bothered to call me back. I would rather deal with a company that values my business.
Bait and switch pricing. Original price to install a new thermostat $79.95 sounded reasonable, we purchased the item ourselves. By the time the tech was done the price went from $125 (he had to add another wire, sounded reasonable) then the final price was $290 +!!!! What? The tech left a mess, didn't program the thermostat nor did he show us that it worked. (Honestly we just wanted him out of our house) The ""manager"" I called apologized and said the ""person"" giving quotes shouldn't have done it. Really? What about scamming people and pulling the bait and switch and fast talk scheme. For-effing-get it. Who knew they could be so crooked and stand behind their vile behavior.
Do not charge me $79 for you just to drive to my home, that should include telling me what is wrong and how much it will cost to fix it before you fix it and then ask for your money. My system shorted out and that should have been where you needed to find out why. Instead you put the system back together but never told me why it shorted out, if a transformer was replaced it was replaced for a reason. You all are no better than the other places that rip women off and think they are stupid.
Mason B.I used to rely on Estes for dependable (if somewhat pricey) HVAC installation and service. Not any more! They are still pricey but my experiences over the past four years have been TERRIBLE.
They installed a complete new high-efficiency system for me (heat pump with auxiliary furnace) about four years ago. The following year, the furnace began to refuse to come on. Since then, they have been out three or four times and I have spent maybe $1500 on calls, repairs, and two new thermostats.
I finally called someone else (Rohan at HVAC Guyz). It turns out that the furnace has a signal code, and this code clearly indicates that the problem is that the pressure switch is interrupting the furnace and causing it to cut out. I mean, all you have to do is look at a blinking light you can see from the front of the furnace and check the manual, to see what is wrong.
$1500 just flushed down the drain, because the expensive Estes repair people didn't know the basics of how to diagnose and fix the problem.
And it gets worse. It seems that the root cause of the problem is that the new system, being high-efficiency, needs more exhaust venting than an old, lower-efficiency system. So I replaced the switch (at a reasonable price!) with Rohan's warning that it might not fix the problem.
My recommendation: Do NOT use Estes repair and maintenance service. And although the sales and installation are not as totally incompetent as the repair service, I would NOT use Estes for new installation.
Zeke H.We purchased a new gas furnace/HVAC unit from Estes Services. Jered and Carlos arrived as scheduled and installed the unit. It appears they did a very good job. The installation took less time than expected. The unit looks great. They left a clean, orderly area. They were pleasant. It's been about a week since the unit was installed. It continues to operate as designed.
