You can never plan when your AC goes out, and today it went out on the same day we are having an open house to sell our home...Good Grief!

We have had a Donovan contract for the past few years, and they have always been responsive to requests, but today, that service was elevated to a whole new level. William was responsive, quickly diagnosed the problem, and installed a new part to get the AC back on track. His service and professionalism was invaluable, and we are grateful! Thank you!

Had an AC issue, where my unit's fan wouldn't shut off. Called Donovan to come out and diagnose it. They were super responsive and timely with the appointment. When the rep arrived youd think he was going for a Guinness Book of World Record on ""Quickest house call."" When he arrived I mentioned I had the AC to look at and another mini split that wasnt turning on. He went to look at the AC unit and within a moment said there was an issue with a module on the motor, and since the unit was old it would just make sense to change the whole unit out....$8,000. I tried wedging in a question about other options he just kept referring to needing a whole new AC unit and it would be about $8,000. After I started my second question he reached into his pocket and handed me his business card and said ""You need a new unit, call when you want to schedule for install"" and darted out of there. Forget the mini split I wanted to be looked at.

5 minutes after he left my wife and I were still scratching out heads on what happened. The guy was in and out in minutes. We agreed to just pretend he was having a bad day and act like Donovan never came over to look at the unit.

The next day we called another AC guy, guy was super helpful. Talked about what happened with the motor, showed me some tests to show me how he knew what the issue was. Said I have many options, can replace the whole unit if it made financial sense. Even said I have several options in changing the whole motor. In the end, we got it all fixed for $380! WOW, so relieved I ignored the Donovan guy and called someone else. Saved me LITERALLY THOUSANDS.

I called for a broken pvc pipe in the attic that pretty much resulted in no hot water in the house. All I'm gonna say is Carlos Urbina came to my house within a couple hours. He was HONEST and informative and now it's fixed. This company is legit and I owe Carlos several beers. Carlos if you read this, next one is on me.

They are very prompt. They are very professional, well trained. Experienced is good, not just a sales person. Only one concern, I wished they did a little more digging into getting me a replacement A/C. But I had gone back to my previous company who didn't let me down and had been there When I needed them too! Both very good. I continue to use both Donovan and the other mechanical company, who also walks the extra mile and competitive pricing.

Sabotaged system. Would not recommend. Called the company because I wanted my AC system cleaned . They said okay and sent out a tech. Tech arrived and told him I wanted the AC to be cleaned and told me that would have to be a follow up appointment because this was the initial. He checked entire system . Which I've had no issues with and after tech check and tells me my system is fine . The AC magically started not be able to cool the home right after I just was told my aC was fine with a report to prove it . Called home warranty because outside unit was noisy they came out and found the outside unit motor was wired reverse and sucking in air not being able to cool the coils correctly. They fixed issues and AC has been working fine . Paid over 100$ just to get sabotaged luckily I had home warranty to fix the issue. Would not recommend them .

Totally frustrated. Air conditioning went out on Friday night, we call Saturday morning. Spoke to someone at the company and first off she was totally annoyed we were calling and very rude. Then she said to turn the AC system off and they would try to get out there some time Tuesday. I have never heard of such from an existing customer. They do our maintenance and have for years. We bought their most comprehensive and expensive maintenance plan. DO NOT BUY MAINTENANCE PLAN WITH DONOVAN!!!!

Donovan is totally unreliable. Any company can do good work during normal circumstances. Great companies go above and beyond. We thought this company was better than this... and we thought being an annual paying customer counted for something. It does not!

I'm sure they have plenty of business and don't care about negative reviews. However, that will not last. The tide will turn and they will have to care about customers again in the future.

Update: since Donovan refused to help, we called ESTES Heating and Air. We have no relationship with Estes, yet they sent someone out first thing and our AC was fixed by 1 PM Saturday. Thank you Estes. If you have Donovan maintenance, consider cancelling or letting it expire and moving to a reliable company that cares.

Don't do it. We're so sorry we went with them. Too much to even write all the reasons you should go with a different company. Expensive mistake.

Donovan bought out Superior air & heating, where I was a 20 year customer . Our A/C is under warranty and the fan motor gave out. I called them and they quoted me $540. I told it was under warranty and they told me that was the labor to install. I went out and bought a replacement fan motor with the capacitor for $150 and installed myself. It took me, an unprofessional, less than 30 minutes to install. There customer service is poor and we won't be calling on them again.

Donovan Air installed our mini split today on our guest bedroom. This bedroom's exterior wall faces west and the afternoon sun does a job on that room so that it causes the main AC to run more than necessary. These units are amazingly quiet and definitely helps maintain a more balanced interior climate now.

Cory and company were a pleasure to have on site. They were on time, very professional, courteous and left the job site clean as they found it. Brandon in sales gave us a fair and reasonable price. There are many AC companies advertising and it's hard to choose which one to go with. Having a reliable HVAC company to turn to is very important in Florida. I recommend Donovan Heat and Air without reservation.

I am extremely satisfied with the HVAC work that has been done on our home. The responsiveness of the company and of the entire team was amazing. Preston recently completed a project in our home and was absolutely wonderful to work with. He was very detailed with all explanations of work and had a positive, determined demeanor throughout the project. Dillon also provided very thorough explanations and contributed in an excellent manner to all work that was completed. Working with Preston and the entire team has been a great experience and we look forward to continuing to work with Donovan Air for future work on our home as well. 10/10 stars for Donovan Heat, Air & Electric!
