Really bad company.. had them install 14-50 out with breakers.. they installed everything but not with in code.. so all receptacles need to have a gfci for electric vehicle charging and they didn't install a breaker with that.. and I have a pool that is within 20 feet of the circuit breaker so you do need to put a gfci protected breaker.. so called them up and explained everything and they are fighting with me saying they did everything right.. Would not trust this company.. stay far away from this company.. they don't know any electrical codes.. upon further research National Electric Code section 625.54 requires gfci circuit breaker are required for receptacles that is in garages, and my 14-50 receptacle is located in my garage.. so I have proof of the code in the pictures.. had 2 other electricians confirm that you do need a gfci circuit breaker.so the owner doesn't want to admit his mistake and fix the problem.. he rather let his ego get in the way instead of fixing the problem and doing the right thing by protecting the home owner..

We needed to install a Tesla charging unit at our home and called Direct Electric for services. It was and easy process to schedule an appointment. The customer service tech on the line FaceTime'd me and wanted to see the breaker, took some notes, and we scheduled a morning a few days out. The service techs were timely and friendly. We had Damien and Nick as our techs and both were friendly and easy to communicate with. My young son was home that day and Nick introduced himself and asked him his name and of course my son was curious about the electrical stuff so he was watching from afar. The install took about 2.5 hours and included the drilling in the walls etc. They made sure the area was clean and ready for charging by cleaning up the space around where the hole was drilled. We are really pleased with the customer service and the quality of work. Would recommend for all your electrical needs.

I was happy with their work but after they left I took a closer look. The wire molding wasn't flush against the wall and the ceiling. I think they'd need to redo the job because they need to remove the wiring first. How can you not put an extra couple of screws to make it flush against the wall? They wouldn't do that if it were their home. Paid over $800 so it should look professional.

This is a great company. Commutation is great. Service is great.

I had a small job to install an outdoor floodlight and need power to that area. Someone came by to take a look and got a quote emailed within minutes. The next day I scheduled for the install.

Installers called before arriving. Completed the job. Cleaned the area. Made sure we were satisfied with the workmanship.

Will definitely call again.

Is that my Bessie in a Tessie? Yes- it's me, borrowing my mama and hubbys new rides lol. My mom needed a new car and so did my husband. Somehow, I convinced both of them to get Teslas.

We wanted a charging station at each of our homes. I called another company with no response but Direct Electric Hawaii responded immediately. I sent some pics to the company and Asher visited to take a look to provide us with a estimate. A few days later, the Tesla wall charger was installed. Easy peasy!

It was expensive compared to other places, but I don't mind paying the price knowing the company is responsive and is listed on the Tesla app as one of their recommended installers.

I've used Direct Electric three times in total on two different properties over the past few years and they were excellent every time. For the few people on here leaving negative reviews, just know that electricians in Hawaii have a coveted skill and they're in constant demand. You need to give them some flexibility. The company owner, Asher, did two of the jobs on my properties and his phone was ringing constantly about other projects he or his people were working on. He answered every call professionally while thoroughly completing the work at my place. I would recommend them.

Direct Electric Hawaii did a few smaller jobs such as changing outlets or extending power to new areas for me when I purchased my home. A few years later when a larger issue arose I knew exactly who to call. The pricing model kept things straight forward and the repairs were done quickly. DEH replaced my entire fuse box, rewired and labeled everything very quickly. Thanks again!

We had to install a new outlet and replace a flickering wall sconce light. Direct Electric's James came today and he did an excellent job. A bright guy and very nice as well. We are very happy with his work. This is our 3rd time using Direct Electric since 2019 and they always do great, reasonably-priced work. They are smooth to schedule with too (Ku'uipo is always sharp and efficient). Mahalo James, Ku'uipo, and Direct Electric!

Absolutely deceiving on the phone, couldn't book properly, failed to mention an email regarding an estimated cost and only told ""A few hundred dollars"" on the phone, and ended up being almost 3x more without the quote even being approved. Words mean things and they kept contradicting themselves in hourly rates vs rates depending on the job and the two people were probably right next to each other in the office. Asked to talk to the boss and she jokingly said ""I'll send a text to him."" For future customers, always trust but verify the work. Give clear (in this case even more clear) and concise guidance....otherwise you'll be in the hole and talking to other electrician companies who are bewildered at the case and are more straightforward and on paper driven.
