Life is Good! We have doctors we trust, a car mechanic who's good and reasonable, a plumber (Big Tuna Plumbing), and finally, an electrician (Direct Electric). Direct Electric is responsive, on time, friendly, knowledgeable, and super hard working. Johnathan Pierce and his helper Mana were exceptionally attentive and answered every dumb question we had about electricity, lights, ballasts, LED's, and fluorescents we could think of . . . in addition, they fixed five switches, bulbs, and ballasts in about 2 hours after trouble shooting, changing out dead fixtures, checking for power and conductivity in all my lights.

I called Direct Electric last Friday and I left a message from the phone number they had on their Yelp page. They called me Friday morning as soon as they could and booked me for late Tuesday. However, they called me back with an earlier slot that opened up. They were helpful on the phone, very supportive about our issue, and expressed a sincere desire to get us the help we needed as quickly as could be scheduled.

Johnathan called me around 12:30PM saying he was going to be there as soon as he finished lunch and by 1:40, they were there on schedule and immediately started fixing things in my old home. After fixing five fixtures, the last one stumped them and they spent the next hour checking and double checking very thoroughly. They discovered the problem and will fix it the next time they come out after I schedule them. Johnathan and Mana were both congenial and not pushy.

A big mahalo to Johnathan Pierce and Mana for their hard work, skill, and customer service! Direct Electric has my business from here on . . . Thank you.

Rod and his team did a fantastic job adding a transfer switch/ breaker panel for my off grid system! Technicians were top notch and did a great job and Rod, you are the most highly motivated person I have every met! Wish I could be like that! I made a new buddy, Roderick! I called Direct Electric Hawaii up after speaking to a couple of people from other companies who should not be working in customer service!

I forget the lady who answered for Direct but she was cool and said she'd have someone call me right away. Bam, 20 minutes later I get a call from Roderick, he asked what was going on. I explained I needed an outlet re-done to accommodate a special plug for a conveyor dryer. He said he could be there at the end of the hour. He popped up, looked around, gave me a quote and went straight to work!

An hour or less later, he had us all set-up plus re-wired some other things to save us some money as well as took a few safety hazards out of our way! So nice I had to bless him with a new shirt ;0)

If you need any sort of electric work done, call them, they professional, fast, small business and down to earth! You won't be disappointed!

I was so disappointed after reading all the good reviews.
My experience was not positive at all. I wasted 1 week trying to get them to give me a quote and I feel they did not value my business, too bad. The Appointment link on the website apparently is not monitored because I made an appointment and nobody called me at the agreed time. After emailing the company I heard nothing for 3 days. When I did finally talk to someone about coming out to do an inspection, they said they couldn't give me a quote over the phone, but said they would email me a quote on the inspection. After 2 days and no email reply from them I tried emailing them 3 days straight asking for a quote but never got the promised email.
What a waste of time.
I wish they would have just said we are not interested in doing an inspection so I didn't waste so much time waiting around.

The first thing every reader needs to know is that the reason these guys don't have a 5-Star overall rating is because they have 7 reviews that rave about their service that the writers forgot to select the star-rating on. I picked these guys because of all the 5-Star ratings in this thread. I emailed these guys on a Sunday afternoon, and by Monday evening my work was done. These guys will be the FIRST and ONLY guys I call when I need more work.

The front office was very professional and friendly. She called to offer an earlier appointment. The technician, Jonathan showed up on time. He located the problem and repaired it. He even checked the attic area to inspect the wiring. He found some extra connections, removed them and ran the wires to the ceiling fan. He rewired the ceiling fan and assembled it. He went the extra mile. Jonathan is an asset to the company. I would highly recommend Direct Electric Hawaii.

I had a really good experience with this company. A few weeks ago we needed some light fixtures re wired. From the receptionist to the electrician, everyone was professional and friendly. I especially want to thank Jonathan who serviced my condo. He was very knowledgable and efficient. He was even kind to my rambunctious little toddler. So, finally found a good company to install a split a/c system into our home. He gave us a really good quote on the spot, and then gave us a ballpark on the electrical aspect and recommended...Direct Electric! What a coincidence! I was already set to call them anyway, but knowing that they often do work together really boosted my confidence in both companies.

Anyway, Karishma & Taryn (really professional and friendly receptionists) have been terrific at scheduling and keeping me updated. Karishma initially wanted to have someone come out to assess our home to get us a quote prior to the installation, but since we've worked with them in the past we trusted that they'd again give us a fair price. So, we set them up to come out the same day as the AireXtreme. BTdubs, they always call the day before to confirm (I think it's bad practice if I have to make the call myself).

This time we had John & Asher working on our house -- very easy to deal with, and know exactly what's up. They were supposed to come down around 10am, but were called to an emergency in Waikiki and couldn't make it out until 2pm (which meant braving H1 traffies during peak hours), but Karishma reassured me that they would have us with air conditioning by the end of the day, and she was right. It did take several hours because our house is pretty big and there was a lot of climbing and maneuvering involved. I feel pretty bad because our home isn't even insulated and it was high heat time out here in Ewa Beach so I'm sure John was really suffering, but he didn't complain at all. He was extremely professional and friendly.

Again they did some extra work for us (they took out some left over tubing from our solar water heater & some other stuff but I don't understand technical jargon) and again, didn't charge us for that. They're pretty adamant about sticking with their original quotes. Not that we're rich or anything, but for all the work they do, I really wouldn't mind paying extra. Speaks a lot toward the character of this company.

Anyway, I'm not big on blasting personal pricing for services done at our home only because it will vary for everyone, but I will say that they were several hundred dollars below the ballpark quote AireXreme said we may be expecting from any electric company.

We couldn't be happier, and look forward to working with these guys again in the future.

First and foremost, THANK YOU Jonathan for the excellent job today! So far everything is still on and there's still no buzzing or flickering!

I just brought this condo and noticed every electric device in my bedroom would ""flicker"" off and on constantly. I immediately started thinking of the worst (fire hazard!!) and looked on Yelp for electricians. The first couple companies were ""too busy"" to do a condo job and I'm actually thankful for that because then I wouldn't have ended up calling Direct Electric Hawaii.

From the moment I called I was greeted with a friendly rep who took the time to actually listen to what was happening. She put me on hold and called a tech to see if anyone could make it here THAT SAME DAY! And, as luck would have it one of the techs was in the general area and said he'd make a stop at my place. I was so thankful because I really was worried that I'd have to keep my entire room disconnected for days, which was a huge inconvenience.

Jonathan arrived promptly and was ready to get to work but at the same time was really friendly and took the time to listen to what the problem was. I've known people in the business who have in their mind that they already know what the problem was regardless of what the customer is telling them. But not Jonathan. He was friendly, empathetic, and really easy going. He quickly diagnosed the problem which turned out to be a FILTHY breaker box and a bad breaker. He tightened the screws, changed the breaker and cleaned out the box all the while explaining what he was doing and explaining why it was necessary to do it.

So again, a huge thank you to Direct Electric Hawaii and Jonathan for making what might have been a huge anxiety-inducing experience into something positive and quick! Obviously I would recommend these guys to anyone needing electrical work and I will absolutely be calling them for all my electrical needs in the future!
