I scheduled an appointment to get an estimate for a number of jobs I need done. The person who showed up (Devon) was knowledgeable and friendly and seemed to really know what he was doing. He was so helpful and very nice to me; he took time out to come back the next day and finish installing something for me that I could not manage myself - at no charge.

I'm waiting for an estimate on the work I want done, so I can't say how that will turn out, but so far I'm very impressed and pleased with how Devon handled the walk-through and follow-up.

REVISED REVIEW: Thumbs down. I received an estimate that was not itemized as promised. Instead, it just listed several lines with the prefix ""painting"" and ""plumbing"" and similar vague descriptions. I emailed James on October 30 and asked for a clearer estimate and never received a reply. Also contacted the business manager, who had promised me the clearly itemized estimate so I could pick which jobs I wanted done immediately, and have not heard back from him either.

Jake did a fantastic job with our three doors (two needed fixing and one needed to open outward instead of inward). He was efficient, and the result was was exactly what we wanted. James and Hope were also great with communicating throughout the process, including moving up the dates when openings came up earlier. Overall I would highly recommend Diablo Valley Handyman for any repair or handywork jobs. We are extremely satisfied!

Hands down Diablo Valley Handyman is a great reliable company for any and all of your handyman services! Hope who is the coordinator for scheduling and getting things approved and set up was awesome! She handled it all, was so nice and sweet and it was easy to talk to her and she confirmed the appointments with grace!
Jake was our handyman and he is an amazing handyman!! He was so polite and respectful, he shook my hand before he came in and when he left. He did such a thorough job on all the stuff we needed done. My dogs were a bit barky towards him and at least one of them warmed up to him and he even pet her and was calm as one of the pups barked at him every time he went in and out of the house. (Sorry Jake, Chloe is a skeptical dog lol) Jake also was very clean as he worked on the projects in our house plus he looked sharp and he impressed me!! A lot of handymen look like and he did not!! I am so thankful he came and fixed our house up. We are happy renters to say the least! This was a great experience! I would recommend them every time!!

I originally called DVH for a small carpentry repair project outside of my garage. Devon was quick to respond, and he and Hope came out to look at the work and give me an estimate. The more we talked, the more projects came to mind. We ended up looking at 2 electrical projects, one plumbing project, and one drywall project, in addition to the carpentry project. They gave me an estimate for everything in a couple of days, a very fair and reasonable price. We were able to work out the schedule, and Jake and Francisco showed up right on time, ready to work. After getting into the electrical issues, Francisco found some flaws from the original installation of some lights, some with potentially dangerous fire consequences. He proposed some changes, and I immediately agreed. Both he and Jake did excellent work on all of the projects, and got it all wrapped up in one day. I couldn't be happier with the results. I will definitely be calling Diablo Valley Handyman back for more projects in the future!

I just had my bathroom remodeled. Diablo Valley Handyman did most of the work. They did a great job. They showed up right on time, were reasonably priced, and finished quickly. I worked with Jake who was kind enough to come a week early to put in my new toilet so I didn't have to move for a week. He helped me make good choices and because of him I have a beautiful new bathroom.

My wife already left a review in January of last year on how Diablo Valley Handyman saved our botched kitchen remodel, but I wanted to add my thoughts.

DVH took the job knowing that we were on a very strict timeline (e.g. they needed to be done with the kitchen drywall by Monday when the flooring guy was coming, and if we weren't ready by then it would be months before we could get back on his schedule). The guys from DVH were working their tails off but we were getting worried that there was an outside shot the Monday deadline wouldn't be met. (This was NOT an easy project and complications understandably arose that required more work).

We reached out to James to express our concern and he responded right away to hear us out, assess the situation, and promise that the deadline would be met. The team worked through the weekend and James himself came out most of Sunday to help push the project over the goal line in time for the flooring guy to come on Monday.

DVH went above and beyond to meet our needs and saved us who knows how much time and money that would have been spent had we needed to reschedule our other jobs. We used them later in the project for a handful of odds and ends jobs (building shelves, installing a microwave vent, installing baseboards to kitchen cabinets) and everything was done fast and right and at a reasonable rate. Unfortunately, this place needs to work on customer service and calling and email customers back. Got a quote with just the price and no other information detailing how long and/or what work was going to be performed. I called them up to talk about the estimate and was told someone would call me back to talk me through the pricing. That never happen. Basically they want to charge $2400.00 worth of Labor ONLY to replace three outside closet doors that would take about two hours to complete each one. thats $300.00 a hour for labor and you still need to get the doors and hardware on top of that.. Over priced poor customer service ..

We did not end up using Diablo Valley Handyman this time, but their response to our initial inquiry for repair work needed was answered promptly and a quick appointment scheduled. Martie, their Office Manager, handled the appointment scheduling for us and gets an A+ on attention to service. Well done.
