This is interesting.

About a year ago (Feb 2016), my solar inverter died, and I wasn't sure if it could be rehabilitated. So I called Daniel - found him highly rated on Yelp! - and had him come over to take a look.

After spending 20-30 minutes disassembling and testing the unit, I guess he determined that the inverter breakers needed to be replaced. These were not common breakers, so he ended the service call with him taking the breakers away with him to try to find replacements.

BIG mistake on my part to let him do that. After several days passed without any updates, I finally called him to find out the status, he told me that he was busy on another job but would come by EOD to return my breakers. He failed to do so. I called him the next day to follow up, he again said that he would make time to return my breakers and to discuss my options. He blew me off that day as well. I called him a 3rd time and had to leave a message this time, demanding to have my breakers returned. He didn't return THAT call. I tracked down where he lived and showed up at his house early one morning and banged on his door to get my breakers. His car was in the driveway and I could hear movement in the house, but no one came to the door. I left another message or two on his phone. Eventually, some two weeks after our first visit, my breakers ""suddenly"" appeared on my doorstep, no note of explanation and no follow-up call.

As bad as the above situation was, what's even more interesting was that I posted a critical review of this treatment here on Yelp! after this fiasco, again, this was February / March 2016. A year later, I need some additional electrical services and so return to Yelp! for recommendations. Imagine my surprise at seeing DC Electric at the top of the recommendations list, with a 5-star rating! So I look through his posted reviews - which go back to 2013 - and, lo and behold, MY less-than-stellar post is nowhere to be found!

What's the deal, Yelp!? Did DC Electric pay you off to remove my 1-star review? I'll be curious to see if this posting is allowed to stay up.

Apparently this electrician does not need new business. I called and left voice mail messages twice and never received a return call. Don't waste your time.

I called DC Electric based off of this company's website and Yelp reviews. I contacted Danny and he responded via text. I explained to him that I needed a quote for 2 outlets in my house. I was very excited when Danny texted me back and said that he would come over that night to offer me a quote of the things I needed done around my home.
Danny showed up 45 minutes late and promised me a quote in my email within a few minutes to my email address. The next day I texted Danny to remind him that I was still waiting for a quote. He texted me back Thanks - and I still have received nothing.

I would suggest to Danny that if he does not want to take the work - for whatever reason a simple text to state - I am not able to take your work or provide you a quote would be ideal. Based off of his lack of customer service skills I am giving him a 3 star rating. Thank you

I just bought an electric car charger and needed the correct type of 240v outlet in my garage. I read all the reviews about DC Electric and decided to try them and I am glad I did! I called to get a quote and Daniel said he could come that day if I wanted. He gave a very reasonable price and then said he could start right then if I wanted. Keep in mind this was a weekend. He worked very hard having to put in new wiring, circuit breakers and outlet. The job got done much faster than I thought it would and at a great price.

If you need an electrician DC Electric is who you should call!

Super duper impressed with Daniel from DC Electric. Not only is he polite, friendly and professional, his rate was the best out there. Who wants to pay boo koo bucks for a service call on a light switch issue?.....not me and I didn't. His number has earned a spot in my phone's contact list. Excellent job at a reasonable rate.... me = very happy customer!

If you need an electrician you absolutely must use Daniel from DC Electric! He is very knowledgeable, does a great job, and has very reasonable prices. I called 10 minutes before closing on a Friday evening and he offered to come right out to do the job. I won't use anyone else!!!

We would give more stars if we could. Daniel is the type of contractor/worker that we wish se had known years ago. Wish there were more with his ethics and honor. (PLUS.... he's very reasonable!!)

I have to say anytime you call someone to come work on the house you were anticipating at some point to get ripped off during the process. This was not at all the experience I had with Daniel and his professionalism as well as guidance on my house left me shocked there are still good ones out there.

Daniel not only got my house back up and running but also only charged me for a service call even though he did use some of his own parts to resolve our issue. The back-and-forth banter was extraordinary and I feel that I have found an electrician for life while living out in Simi Valley.

There was some mentioning on what we should do in the future although did confirm that we did not have to go through this at this moment to get to where we needed to be to have electricity back on a few rooms. When I do decide to do the work that's needed in the future Daniel be the first call I make.

Anyone looking for work to be done and are concerned with honesty and priced effectiveness should give this guy a call. He also came out same day and save the day. Great job Daniel!
