Timothy S.Dan was punctual, friendly and most of all did a great job and has integrity. I needed three rooms rewired for smart light switches. Needed neutral wires pulled. Dan provided excellent service, a fair price and got the job done. Highly recommended. Thanks Dan for helping me get my project back on track.
Adam L.Great job by Dave. He did exactly what I needed. Exactly how I needed it done. He worked hard until it was completed. Even cleaned up after he was done.
Erin C.Called and ledt a message, got a call back right away, Danny was very professional and courteous, and very reasonable on price. I was interested in adding an outlet and prepping a spot for a ceiling fan (I have no problem installing the fan myself, but cutting the hole, mounting the plate... I was not prepared to do that). The installed outlet and fan prep look great! Very happy!
Shabnam V.We used DC Electric to add an electric outlet in the garage for the fridge, change 3 light fixtures to a more modern look and added 2 light posts. The electricians were highly knowledgeable and gave us great suggestions and pointers upon their arrival. They did a lot of extra work for us and gave us a phenomenal price! A lot of electricians on Yelp are impossible to get a hold of, but these guys will be there when you need them!
Not only will I never recommend DC Electric, or Lemos Electric as he does business on his website, my recommendation is to stay as far away as possible. We hired an to do about $1,300 worth of work around the house, part of that was to prep two bathrooms for wallpaper by floating and smoothing the walls and painting them with primer.
We wanted him to get started after the Labor Day weekend, but he was eager to get started sooner so we accommodated his request.
We paid $600 up front at Dan's request balance was going to be due upon completion of the job. Dan never bought any materials for the job, God knows where the $600 went. He barely completed the two bathrooms, I had to finish floating the walls, sanding, and painting. He was never on time, never showed up when he said he was going to, always seemed to have to run out for 3 to 5 hours at a time, and wouldn't clean up at the end of the work day.
He worked the Thursday afternoon and the Friday before Labor Day and the Tuesday after. I wasn't able to be home on Wednesday, so he was supposed to return on Thursday. Thursday and Friday he said he had problems with his truck. After numerous text messages and phone calls, Dan finally returned on Thursday but only stayed for 90 minutes. He said he had to run out to get his tools, but would be back in ""a few hours"". We both live in Simi Valley, it shouldn't take him more than 30 minutes to go to his house, get tools and come back. After a few more text messages from me to find out when he was coming back, he finally said he would be back at 5pm. Really not an acceptable time to come back and start working, Dan never showed. As of today, 9/19, Dan has not returned, despite multiple inquiries and requests for him to return and finish. I have spent numerous hours finishing the work that Dan was paid for. Dan never did buy any materials for the job that he was supposed to purchase according to his bid.
Additionally, I found out that his contractor's license has expired and he does not have a valid business tax certificate with the city.
Sam S.I needed to replace light fixture in Simi Valley and Daniel offered to come by and give a quick look, and gave me a fair estimate. He showed up on time and did the job in due time. I will use him for any future work in the area.
Kristy W.Daniel with DC Electric is a crook. We are having problems with the wiring of our A.C. unit, he came out, spent 5 hours ""diagnosing"" our problem, took the contactor off so our A.C. no longer works, came back the next day and spent another 5 hours without fixing it, stating he'll be back the next day. Guess what, he hasn't come back to fix it. It is 9am, day 3 without A.C. and it is already 83 degrees in our house with a young child at home. We've texted and called and he has not responded other than saying, ""I'll be late"" and ""I promise to be there today"" and he didn't show. Upon further investigation, HIS LICENSE IS EXPIRED!! He took $475 and his invoice even states ""DC Electric will come back, replace part AND FIX AC"". He is a crook. We tried to contact small claims court, and they cant do anything for work less than $500. He is a crook, not to mention unprofessional, and non compliant. This is the last time we will ever use a company based off of yelp.
Dan and Dave did a great job on my ceiling fan installation and went above and beyond. I'll be calling soon for more of his expertise.
This is interesting.
About a year ago (Feb 2016), my solar inverter died, and I wasn't sure if it could be rehabilitated. So I called Daniel - found him highly rated on Yelp! - and had him come over to take a look.
After spending 20-30 minutes disassembling and testing the unit, I guess he determined that the inverter breakers needed to be replaced. These were not common breakers, so he ended the service call with him taking the breakers away with him to try to find replacements.
BIG mistake on my part to let him do that. After several days passed without any updates, I finally called him to find out the status, he told me that he was busy on another job but would come by EOD to return my breakers. He failed to do so. I called him the next day to follow up, he again said that he would make time to return my breakers and to discuss my options. He blew me off that day as well. I called him a 3rd time and had to leave a message this time, demanding to have my breakers returned. He didn't return THAT call. I tracked down where he lived and showed up at his house early one morning and banged on his door to get my breakers. His car was in the driveway and I could hear movement in the house, but no one came to the door. I left another message or two on his phone. Eventually, some two weeks after our first visit, my breakers ""suddenly"" appeared on my doorstep, no note of explanation and no follow-up call.
As bad as the above situation was, what's even more interesting was that I posted a critical review of this treatment here on Yelp! after this fiasco, again, this was February / March 2016. A year later, I need some additional electrical services and so return to Yelp! for recommendations. Imagine my surprise at seeing DC Electric at the top of the recommendations list, with a 5-star rating! So I look through his posted reviews - which go back to 2013 - and, lo and behold, MY less-than-stellar post is nowhere to be found!
What's the deal, Yelp!? Did DC Electric pay you off to remove my 1-star review? I'll be curious to see if this posting is allowed to stay up.
Apparently this electrician does not need new business. I called and left voice mail messages twice and never received a return call. Don't waste your time.
