The essence of Day-Lite Maintenance, a family-operated firm, is rooted in electricity. In Pawpaw, Illinois, the Walworth family launched their electrical career with a generator plant.

The family made their way to Santa Ana, California, in the 1930s. Richard Ray Walworth, known as ""Dick,"" recognized the chance to supply lighting to a booming commercial real estate sector.

In 1961, he founded Day-Lite, and as his fleet expanded, he began parking service vehicles in his parents' orange grove. Zelma and Ray Edward Walworth would discover his new truck while tending to the grove.
