Electricity flows through the core of Day-Lite Maintenance, a family-run business. The Walworths first ventured into electricity by owning a generator facility in Pawpaw, Illinois.

In the 1930s, the family relocated to Santa Ana, California. Dick Walworth, the son, identified an opportunity to deliver lighting solutions to a growing commercial real estate market.

In 1961, he launched Day-Lite, and with a growing fleet, he started using his parents' orange grove for parking service vehicles. As they cared for the grove, Zelma and Ray Edward Walworth would find out about his new truck.
