Davis Services, Inc. is a family-owned business established by Spartanburg local Michael Davis in 1972. He still manages the company alongside his two sons, Brian and Nick. In the early days, Davis Services concentrated on heating and air. Lately, we have broadened our offerings to include plumbing and electrical services. Starting with a 1967 GMC truck and a passion to the heating and cooling industry, I launched Michael Davis Heating and Air Conditioning in September of 1972. Since then, my individual operation has evolved into Davis Services, Inc., one of the premier heating and cooling service providers in South Carolina.

Today I have decided to cancel my service contract with Davis Services.
My mother also has a service contract.
They misdiagnosed my mother's heat pump with a coolant/freon leak and told her that she needed new system and wanted to charge her over $8,000 for a new system for a 1800 sq ft home. We got a second opinion and this technician said there was nothing wrong with the compressor and no leaks. It may have been a wrongly set thermostat.
Now my mother having a problem with her heat pump and Davis is refusing to come out and fix the issue. They said that she canceled the new heat pump install and they will no longer work on the heat pump even if it is a blower motor that is not working.
Beware of them if you are elderly. They will try to take advantage of you.

We contacted Davis for a repair job on our central air conditioner and the technician was honest and open with me about the situation. We ultimately decided to replace the entire system at a cost of just over $9K. I was generally pleased with the service as a tech came out and installed some window units so that we would have some cooling since they couldn't get to the replacement for a week. The work was done in a timely and efficient manner and we are happy with the system. The poor rating above does not reflect the work but the manner in which it was sold to us. This house is a parsonage so I am not personally responsible for the cost of this job. The salesman was told that and I was still told that it could be financed for 18 months same as cash. He did not explain that it couldn't be financed to the church or that the financing was not through Davis at all but Wells Fargo bank. Unfortunately my personal credit is not great and WF turned down our request for less than half of the total as we had paid a big chunk down. This put the church is a difficult position financially as we did not expect to have to pay the entire amount at one time. We might have done things differently had this been well explained at the beginning.

Wish I would have read the reviews before I called. Guy came out late charged 219 to do nothing. 40 to cut a weed out. Tried to charge 1500 to fix things that were not even wrong. He left and I paid 219 for nothing . Called another company out they fixed it for 150. It did not need any of the things Davis was trying to charge me for. A bunch of crooks. I would not give them any stars but had to pick one before it would let me submit.

Davis has serious problems. I had used Davis for 25 years at my office and home and was pleased. When I needed a new H/Vac for my home I called Davis and they sent out a sales fellow. All this fellow wanted to do is sell me a $12,009 unit. We have a 1500 sq. Ft home and do not need anything that big for sure. The fellow got and left my home and said nothing. He humiliated my wife and I with his obvious disdain for my decision to buy a more appropriate unit. He just got up and left. Extremely rude. I terminated my contract with Davis the next day. I am pleased to say I found an honest company with true integrity and professionalism. Davis will without a doubt try to make this incident look like I am the problem. Believe me, these guys are out to take your money anyway they can.

Had a slow leak according to Spartanburg Water. Decided to try Davis Services since we had good experience with them in the past for HVAC. Receptionist very helpful and got us scheduled for service the next day. She called back and said they could come out same day because of a cancellation. The technician Woodrow was knowledgeable, professional and courteous. Excellent communication, work not rushed. His advice was solid. Price reasonable with no added or hidden charges. I will definitely use Davis for plumbing again.

We were very disappointed. The work was so so. The tech tracked mud through the living room and they aren't taking responsibility for it. i was very upset that they were were so callous.

We called Davis when our hot water heater exploded and we needed a new one. The previous home owner put a hole in the deck in order to allow access to the crawlspace. She shouldn't have even put in a deck because they were unable to get the old hot water heater out of the hole.
We had to put in an aquahut. It was expensive (though we got three quotes and they were all expensive) and now we have an eyesore on the outside of the house but the work was efficient, timely, and there is hot water so we can't complain.
The person who quoted us was a little sexist because he mostly talked to my partner (male) instead of me regarding home repairs.

they do not even know what service means. tech located problem in 15 minutes the spent over 30 minutes in his truck working up an estimate. overpricing on everything , pushed a 200 dollar service plan that would reduce the prices to just really high. what a joke , will not do business with these guys.

This company does not treat customers well. They look for any chance to charge for a service call and diagnostic fee. We had to call them 3 times in 3 weeks and the last tech they had was the icing on top. Bruce came to check the thermostat out which we had just replaced and knew worked for the home for several years, and he says the thermostat is the problem. He suggests that we buy a $50 retail thermostat from him for $200 and we would be A ok. We asked if we could just buy the thermostat retail and put it in ourselves and he said no, you will blow a fuse. I asked if there was a reason that this would be wired poorly to make a new thermostat not work, but he insisted that we were incapable of doing it. When discussing pricing options I had my wife on the line and he laughed at her whenever she was trying to discuss pricing options or what was happening with the system. He then states that he has other customers to see and we can't be wasting anymore of his time. I guess we aren't customers huh? Thanks for your stellar service Bruce. Never use this company if you would like it fixed the first time.

I terminated Davis Services last summer after terrible service. I spoke to the manager then and he was amazingly rude to me.
They keep charging my credit card and I cant get them to stop. I have written and called. I have employed a new company to service my furnace.
The people they sent to my house did not leave it in the same condition they found it.They turned the air way down and all the windows were open. They didn't bother to put the thermostat back as they found it and our house was cooled for with all windows open for hours before I found it .
When I called they said it was my problem. They left doors open and the furnace room open too.
I do not recommend this company. Please ignore their fancy advertising on TV.
