I've engaged in side jobs for years, but I chose to launch my own company. My former employer, who gave me a chance as a Superintendent on a major project in the southeastern region—the Navy Federal Headquarters in Bueller, Florida. We worked as a subcontractor for Barracco Electric, and I started with three other team members. The crew expanded to 50 by the time I moved on from that job. When my previous employer informed me that my position was no longer necessary, I realized, “It’s all about business; you’re the most expensive on the payroll.” He stated he could bring in new hires at a third of my salary. I get how business operates. That’s when I made the choice to work towards my master contractor license, which I am actively pursuing. December 2022 is fast approaching. I can competently manage light electrical tasks and small commercial jobs with my LLC license. My aim is to provide opportunities for troubled teens who have been incarcerated.
