With over 75 years of experience, Cullum Electric and Mechanical has been a leader in the field. Hubert Cullum established Cullum Electric in the 1930s. The business began in his home before moving to a location on Waller Avenue. In the late 1960s, George Smith, Hubert's son-in-law, took ownership and expanded into commercial and industrial heating and cooling services. The company transformed into Cullum Electric AND Mechanical and relocated to its present site on East Durst Avenue. In the late 1980s, George's son, Wade Smith, joined Cullum Electric and Mechanical. Wade initially assisted in the electrical division before taking over the service department. Today, he runs the business with John's help, while George provides advice and manages special projects.

Wade, John, and George are graduates of Clemson's engineering program and are licensed mechanical and electrical contractors. They strive to preserve Cullum's legacy of excellence in heating, cooling, and electrical services and installations.
