Cullum Electric and Mechanical has been at the forefront of the industry for over 75 years. In the 1930s, Hubert Cullum founded Cullum Electric. The business began in his home before moving to a location on Waller Avenue. In the late 1960s, George Smith, Hubert's son-in-law, took ownership and expanded into commercial and industrial heating and cooling services. Cullum Electric soon evolved into Cullum Electric AND Mechanical and moved to its current location on East Durst Avenue. Wade Smith, George's son, came on board in the late 1980s. Wade started in the electrical division and eventually took charge of the service department. Wade still leads the business with John's assistance, and George contributes by advising and managing special projects.

Wade, John, and George, all Clemson engineering alumni, are licensed contractors in both mechanical and electrical disciplines. Their goal is to uphold Cullum's rich history of delivering high-quality heating, cooling, and electrical services and installations.
