Cullum Electric and Mechanical has been at the forefront of the industry for over 75 years. In the 1930s, Hubert Cullum founded Cullum Electric. The business began in his home before moving to a location on Waller Avenue. In the late 1960s, Hubert's son-in-law, George Smith, took over and added services for commercial and industrial heating and cooling. Cullum Electric later became Cullum Electric AND Mechanical and established its current location on East Durst Avenue. Wade Smith, George's son, came on board in the late 1980s. Wade initially assisted in the electrical division before taking over the service department. Today, he runs the business with John's help, while George provides advice and manages special projects.

Wade, John, and George, all Clemson engineering alumni, are licensed contractors in both mechanical and electrical disciplines. They strive to preserve Cullum's legacy of excellence in heating, cooling, and electrical services and installations.
