For more than 75 years, Cullum Electric and Mechanical has led the industry. Cullum Electric was founded by Hubert Cullum during the 1930s. The business began in his home before moving to a location on Waller Avenue. In the late 1960s, George Smith, Hubert's son-in-law, took ownership and expanded into commercial and industrial heating and cooling services. Cullum Electric soon evolved into Cullum Electric AND Mechanical and moved to its current location on East Durst Avenue. In the late 1980s, George's son, Wade Smith, joined Cullum Electric and Mechanical. Wade initially assisted in the electrical division before taking over the service department. He continues to manage the business today with support from John, while George offers guidance and oversees special projects.

All three, Wade, John, and George, hold engineering degrees from Clemson and are licensed contractors in mechanical and electrical fields. They strive to preserve Cullum's legacy of excellence in heating, cooling, and electrical services and installations.
