Two stars for showing up. Minus 3 stars for wanting to gouge me to replace a 1"" ball valve for over $800. Fixed myself for $68. Felt like I was negotiating on a new car purchase. Never again.

Had a horrible experience with this company. Called Home Depot for a regular maintenance on our AC system and was directed to this company. The technician came out at 1pm on Friday and performed the service. At one point I smelled the heat come on but I figured that was part of the service. My thermostat went from 68 degrees when she arrived to 76 degrees when she left but I figured it was because they running the system. At the end she said everything was working and showed me some pictures of inside the air handler and gave me a written ""suggestions"" to better keep up my AC. After she left, my AC never turned back on. We called the following morning when we realized it started getting hot outside and waited 4 hours for them to send another technician. The new technician determined that the compressor didn't work and coincidentally might have been hit by lightening. I was home all day, I promise you we did not get hit by lightening. He then tells us it's going to cost us $2600 to fix but he'll waive the current visit. WHAT?!? How did a $33 maintenance call turn into a $2600 non-functioning AC?

We asked to speak to a manager cuz it worked before the first technician arrived. Well, the manager doesn't come back till Monday. The weather's feels like temp was 111 degrees and we had no AC all weekend. We ended up calling another company and had to pay $1000 for repair Monday afternoon. Received the call from the manager whose name on the voicemail was illegible and when you call that number back, their voicemail isn't set up. The new AC company said the original technician should have never run the heat in this weather because she probably fried the system. Shame on you Home Depot for partnering with this kind of company. NEVER AGAIN and I'll make sure to spread the word

Our AC went out two days ago...could there be a worst time for it to happen? Luckily, we have a long term relationship with Cool Today. Within hours we had a tech checking out our system. More bad news, the compressor was kaput. Since we had a ten year old system that has been failing, we decided to get a new unit. Unbelievably, within an hour another rep was at our dinner table explaining our options. Less than 30 hours later our new system is up and running. Thanks to Alejandro and his colleague Marco. They got the job done...and I so appreciate everything Cool Today did for me!

My wife discovered wet carpet in the guest bedroom just outside of where our A/C air handler is housed in the wall. This had happened before and obviously was due to the condensation drain being clogged at some point. A cursory check of the outside drain pipe did not fix the problem so I went online to COOL TODAY and requested a Tune-Up on each of our 2 A/C units (as website itemized the Tune-Up including cleaning out the condensation drain.) The Service Rep - or Repairman - showed up as scheduled. When I told him the problem he explained that his trip was a Service Call with a standard charge of $89, and if I wanted the units Tuned Up it would be an additional $89 each. I explained that the Tune-Up is what I requested in setting up the appointment online, but that did not matter. I told him to go ahead with the Tune-Ups. He requested to do an outside check and returned informing me that the units were UNSERVICEABLE. The explanation was that my units were rather old (22 years old) and the Freon/coolant that it uses is no longer available (or ""legal"", don't remember the reason). I was told this same ""story"" 23 years ago when my previous A/C units needed servicing. I had to find an A/C repairman who did not sell new units to fix it then. AND, this time, I called my wife's nephew - who is an automobile mechanic - to come over and check the condensation drain (as at 84 I can no longer do it myself). He did and corrected the problem, and my unit is cooling just fine in this the hottest summer on record. (It's true when they say, ""It's hard to stop a Trane"".) Sure it is 22 years old but it has run those years like a top, and the nephew ""serviced"" it. So, COOL TODAY may deem your older unit ""unserviceable"" and not attempt a repair.

This company is a total, 100% joke. They install a new unit and disregard standards for sizing. They send 3 techs as follow up and they all parrot the same story. Now they lost the order to replace the unit with the correct size unit. I hope I don't dispute the charge on my credit card, I'd hate to end up across from the with a judge. I'd hate to have the truth be known and read into public record.

Stay away or be prepared to suffer at the hands of idiots!

Cool Today came out (Gabe) was the technician. Nice young man. But all he wanted to do is sell me on upgrades and a new system. My unit is just under 8 years old. He tells me they last 8-12 years. Time to start thinking about a new system.
Service was mediocre. Seems to be all about the money. System still isn't working properly...

NOT Cool Today.

This business attempts to prey on unsuspecting homeowners.

We had a maintenance plan and every time they came they found something new that needed repair an expansive repair. The $50 thermostat cost us $500 to replace for example.

The final straw was when we needed the drain line repaired they quoted $1,200. However the service guy said it wasn't worth it and scheduled an appointment with a sales guy for a quote to replace the inside unit, outside unit and all duct work (EXPENSIVE). The system is only 6 years old and should have years of life left.

Instead we went to a competitor and paid $500 to completely redo the drain line and add fluid to continue to break up the algae.

It's our impression that their service people are really the first level of their sales force, which is trained to extract as much money from customers as possible, not to provide the appropriate service for the job at hand.

If you don't like feeling ripped off I'd go elsewhere. We have.

The company does not follow through with scheduled appointments. Twice I have been scheduled and no one shows up! Poor company service. Please stay away and use someone else! All you get when you call is excuses. NO SHOW cost me a lot of money with my Home Watch person!!!! Also never sign a maintenance control with them!

Our Comfort Advisor Ana was amazing. She was informative and very nice. Installers Carlton and Rico were great. Very professional and had a great attention to detail. They left the area better than they found it. I highly recommend this company!
