Growing up, I observed my father fix and restore various items in our household. Whenever an appliance or vehicle was deemed broken, he would bring it home and revive it. I remember a Christmas when he created a full-sized Santa Claus in his sleigh, adorned with lights, and mounted it on our roof. He was remarkably skilled and, in my eyes, a genius! I dreamed of being like him, but there was a hurdle—I was a girl! In the 1950s, that posed a problem, so I set aside my dreams and pursued college. I graduated at the top of my high school class and ventured into Corporate America. During weekends and free time, I honed my skills in different trades. For three decades, I worked on home improvement projects of every size and eventually established my own business—Concierge Renovations.
