The Story of City Electric
City Electric was founded in the city of Stephenville in 1949 by Mr. E.L. Stephens. Mr. Stephens developed the business into a highly regarded service provider, quickly earning a reputation for dependability. For 33 years, Mr. Stephens managed the thriving company after opening its doors. In time, Mr. Stephens opted to sell the business to someone who could continue the legacy he had built. Mr. Bragg was that individual.

In the year 1982, Mr. Stephens approached Mr. Bragg to purchase the company. Certainly, David saw this as an incredible chance to own such a reputable company and jumped at the chance.

By 1986, David realized that the growing company needed to broaden its horizons, so he formed the company under the name “Stephenville City Electric, Inc.”.

I relocated to Stephenville to enroll at Tarleton State University, married, started a family, and made it my home. I proudly call this town home, and owning my own business brings me joy. Owning this business has given me opportunities to build and enhance not only my business but also a network of friends. We started with electrical work and expanded into Watson Insulation under the same management. I anticipate more growth this year with the start of our solar power division.
