I wanted to update my review. Miguel came over and took care of my hearers after so many months. Come to find out it was his scheduler who does not call clients when parts arrive or she forgets to let you know he has another job to go to and cant come. Better to be proactive if you want things taken care of.

Very professional and great service.
We had a lights out event in our home and the service man was very method oriented in identifying the root cause, confirmed the problem and then attempted to fix. Highly recommend!

Poor business model, late appointments, poor commitments and complete waste of time ..please don't waste you time

I can't say enough good things about Budget Electric. First, Abe did some work for us through American Home Shield about a year ago and everything went smoothly. Abe was extremely patient and answered all my questions, was efficient about his work, and was very courteous. He's also just a kind person. Then last week, we lost power in the storm in Oakland when a large tree branch took out our power line. Mike and Abe were able to squeeze us in the next day for a quote and then worked super hard to install a new panel in one day (since ours was fried) to try to get our power back before the weekend. They were extremely communicative and explained everything to us before they did any work. They cleaned up the site after their work and it passed the inspection. They then went above and beyond to call PG&E every day for us until we could get a same-day override to get reconnected - they probably called PG&E a total of 6 or 7 times for us. They were always very communicative with us on the situation and the next steps and were very invested in getting us back into our home (even though it didn't mean any more money for them after their work was done). They are the gold standard of service providers - thank you for such a great experience and for helping us through a really difficult time.

The service provider who came to our house was friendly and is the only reason for anything above one star. The part was not immediately on hand (estimate was two weeks) and so it required two visits. Since then I have not been able to reach Budget Electric. They DO NOT ANSWER THEIR PHONE and WILL NOT RETURN CALLS. I'm stuck with them because the service was arranged through my home warranty provider (American Home Shield, who has also been completely unhelpful in resolving this). I've been trying to get a burnt-out light fixture replaced for two months now, with no end in sight. DO NOT DO BUSINESS with Budget Electric.

We submitted a service request through our AHS home warranty and were assigned to Budget Electric. It was after work hours. It affected our fridge and stove, so AHS put it as expedite/emergency.
The next morning we were contacted by BE, and they found us a canceled appointment time for the following morning. In the meantime, I searched BE for reviews and saw quite a few negative reviews, leaving me nervous for our appointment.
Based on the service we received, I don't know how they have bad reviews. The women answering my phone calls were very understanding and patient with may many phone calls. Michelle and another woman handled all my questions and concerns. There were a couple of times I wasn't able to reach them, but I'm assuming they were handling other calls or were at a unch break.
Although it was an hour outside of our service window, we had an electrician show up soon after. With the storms, I think they're busy and sometimes run a little behind. Michael was the best and completely blew away all concerns as soon as he arrived. He was courteous and positive the entire time. He asked permission for coming inside, opening doors, going into rooms, etc. He patiently explained everything he did. He wasn't annoyed by curiosity or my questions. He was thorough and had diagnosed our problem in less than 5 minutes. Although it ended up being an issue for PG&E to fix, Michael double-checked the circuit breaker and boxes. He replaced a faulty fuse box to ensure no additional issues.
After our service was complete, I shared our initial concerns based on previous reviews. Michael was still positive and genuinely courteous. He had positive things to say about Miguel and Abraham as well. He explained they have a high volume of service calls. He didn't make excuses. Without dismissing the other reviews, he said that with the volume of calls they do, there are probably some negative reviews. Although I don't typically leave reviews, I felt it was only fair to give an honest review after reading the negative reviews. Thanks to BE and Michael for service above and beyond!

Abraham from Budget Electric was courteous, smart, efficient, safe, respectful of the property, and friendly. Could not have asked for a better experience. I will always ask for him for future work.

My bathroom fan isn't working effectively where the water is dripping from the fan after taking a shower and the entire bathroom is wet, and you can start to see some water damage from the water just sitting in the ceiling. This was the company American Home Shield contracts out through my warranty with them, and they have come 3x just to tell me it turns on so there's nothing to fix. This has been going on for nearly 3 months.
To avoid further water damage and not waste time with them, I decided to just buy a new fan of pocket. When my contractor opened the fan cover, he said the fan design is very ""unique"" where the fan is actually sideways instead of pointing downwards to suck up the air. When looking at the cover, he was also able to identify where the water was dripping from without me showing any photos that I had taken. The fact that Budget Electric hasn't even bothered to open the fan cover to examine more closely shows their competence.
1 star for showing up. 0 stars for identifying the problem.

They are the worst company. They came to look at my ceiling fan, which is covered by my home warranty. All parts and components are covered. They wrote the report in such a way that the company denied coverage!! This was contrary to what the electrician told me when he came to my home. I spent a week trying to get someone on the phone to discuss this with them, as most of the time, calls go to voicemail. They finally said they would revise their report, but when I was told what they said, it was worse than the first time. Avoid this company at all costs, as they took a simple issue and made it a big deal at my expense.

Needed help getting our doorbell chime working - booked Budget through our home warranty service. Our technician Abraham was outstanding - super knowledgeable, personable, courteous and professional at every turn. After some troubleshooting, he was able to pinpoint the issue and resolve it. The whole service call took less than an hour, which was super appreciated. We now have a working doorbell chime just in time to greet our Holiday guests - thank you Abraham & Budget Electric!
