Amber P.Great service! Would highly recommend this company. Very easy to schedule the service appointment. Received an email letting me know they were on their way. Our technician, Booth, was very professional and friendly. He was able to find and fix our issue the same day!
Julie H.Here's what we had done: Relocate 2 ceiling light fixtures and a wired smoke detector. Install new lights into the 2 relocated fixtures. Clean up a mess of switches on one wall. It's hard to even describe the ridiculous array of switches the previous owner had put in. Bryant Elec was able to consolidate 8 switches into 3 and it looks great. Also, removed fixture boxes and disconnected wiring for 4 sconces that were in the living room. Total cost was $853.
We are happy with the work and have already scheduled them to come back and do more. They do charge a $79 fee to give you an estimate. We weren't crazy about that but if you use them, that fee goes toward your bill. We had used a different electrician earlier in the year that didn't give estimates. They just came out and did the job and then presented the bill. We were pretty surprised at how high it was. We won't do that again. We've found that it's difficult to comparison shop any type of home improvements involving contractors. They either don't show up or they want to charge for estimates and it's a time consuming process. That being said, it's hard to say how high or average or low Bryant's pricing is but it seems reasonable, especially compared to our experience with the other electrician. Booth Sen is the technician that Bryant sent out. He was extremely professional, friendly and a very good communicator. He showed up on time, both for the estimate appointment and then for the scheduled work. The quality of his work is top notch. We will use Bryant exclusively for all electrical work we need.
Steve F.Called them for electrical work in a rental property in Austin , I live 200 miles away. Needed two fixtures installed that I had already purchased and a new wall switch. Charged $397 for less than 1 hour's work. The electrician himself was excellent but after he completed the work it seems that he had time to go around the house and catalog all the other work that needed to be done. Called to discuss the pricing but have never heard back. I guess this will teach me not to be so trusting from reading reviews.
Brian H.During the storms last week we kept losing power at home. The outside lights and the AC still worked, so I knew it was something internal to our house. We called at 9am for a same day appointment. Booth, the technician, was here by 11:30am. Within half an hour he was able to diagnose and fix the issue, plus perform a safety check on the other circuits leading into the house. He could not have been more polite or efficient, in my mind.
The price is a bit above average, however the service was worth it and allowed me to get back to work and not worry any longer. Would definitely choose Bryant again.
M W.Following a lightning strike to our house and quite a bit of damage I was scrambling to find contactors. I called Bryant Services and they were able to get a technician out that day.
The technician who came out was great ... he knew what he was doing and was able to clearly explain it to me. I was expecting that this was going to be a huge repair and an expensive job. The technician could have really taken advantage of me on this one but instead the damage was not as extensive as I expected and the estimate was much lower that I would have ever thought. Even after repeatedly asking him ""are you sure"" and ""if I were your mother"" he was reassured me that he could repair the damage and that we would be safe.
The tech was back two days later to do the work and was here right on time. He got all our electrical issues resolved and I have lights again!!! I'm excited to be getting the house back to normal but also very happy to have found a service person and company that holds customer service and integrity with such high regard.
Booth, the electrician, was professional and knowledgeable. He took the time to explain why things were not working properly. Service was great! It is a bit pricey but worth it for the peace of mind.
On a Sunday, they came and helped get our power back on! Our main breaker switch broke. Thank you!!!
Mazel T.Jorge was quick and very responsive to what we needed. He was also very friendly and professional. Thank you for the good experience Jorge and Bryant Service Company.
I wanted to add a new light fixture on my garage, and I contacted Bryant at the recommendation of a neighbor. It took a while to hear back from them, but to be fair, I initially made contact around Christmas time, and mine was a small and non-emergency project.
My technician, Jorge, was very polite and informative as we discussed the work I wanted done, he wrote up an estimate, I okayed it, and he got to work. I paid $500ish for him to drill through my rock wall, set a junction box, fish wire through the wall and attic, and install the fixture. It was on the high end of what I expected to pay, but seems reasonable. He had to cut a couple holes in my drywall, but was able to salvage the pieces so that I only need to patch the seams.
If ""how tidy does he keep his work area"" is an indication of quality of work, then Jorge is top-notch. He put down plastic drop cloths under his tools to protect my (dusty concrete) garage floor, swept up rock debris and dust from his drilling, and took his shoes off when he needed to walk through my house (he had run out of the slipper/bootie things they usually use).
For future electric work, I'll get estimates from other companies, but I will definitely consider using Bryant again.
Sean A.This company is a ripoff. We had to ask them to stop showing up and hire another electrician to finish the job. We were charged $6400 for an incomplete job to rewire a kitchen and move a subpanel. Bryant asked for another $1800 to finish the job so we gave up on them. If you decide you love being overcharged for electric work and choose Bryant, ensure Mauricio isn't your electrician. He advised our house kept him up at night indicating he didn't know what he was doing and he took forever to complete work. The electricians observing his work for our second opinion had a laugh at his expense when they saw the quality of his work. When confronting manager Michael Galvez about the situation, he declared Bryant had competitive rates and wasn't sympathetic whatsoever offering a price guide from a consulting firm as evidence. The only evidence this provided was Bryant is out of touch with rates in the market, hired a consulting firm to help, and is passing along the cost to its consumers. Avoid, avoid, avoid!
Update: Bryant did not pull a permit with the city prior to starting the work. When we fired them, they threatened to pull the permit if we didn't take this review down. The review was taken down, but Bryant proceeded with the permit anyway. We are first time homeowners and this was our first job on the house. Unfortunately, we weren't as familiar with the requirements for this type of work as we should have been and Bryant completely took advantage of us.
Response to comments below: Statements by Michael are grossly exaggerated at best and a flat lie at worst. If you find a quote for over $6k for a subpanel move and kitchen rewire in less than 500 sq ft, by all means, go with Bryant. They have nice trucks and uniforms. Other electricians will laugh as you hand money to this company while Bryant laughs their way to the bank. If you like reasonable prices and great customer service, steer clear.
