I looked at a handful of different solar providers before choosing Blalock and because my roof has metal shingle, the quotes varied greatly. Jordan at Blalock was the only provider that I felt took the time to explain how they could make it all work and reassured me that they had the experience to pull off this slightly more complicated installation. The permitting process was smooth, the installation fast, and Jordan was always responsive to questions. I am recommending Blalock to friends after my positive experience.

What an efficient operation! Blalock installed our solar, which was just turned on today. (Yea!!) We had to work through the installation of a sub-panel, as well as a whole house fan and an EV charger. Each of these raised aesthetic and performance issues which Blalock could not have handled any better.

Our preference was to upgrade our existing electrical panel but SDG&E was going to require us to trench to the handle at the curb to install a new panel, thousands of dollars we did not have. The sub-panel was the perfect solution, and Blalock was consistently willing to answer questions and direct us to the best way to do the sub-panel. (Can we put the pool on the sub-panel? Sure, but it's not necessary.)

Blalock started with two visual inspections of our property, and then a third to determine the best, most efficient way to run the EV charger from the panel to the garage. Blalock's workers were on time, courteous, and helpful. Leonard the roofer was awesome, super cool cat who did really nice work. Blalock ran the EV charger under the eaves and then painted the silver casing to minimize any cosmetic issues. They asked where we wanted the whole house fan in the attic -- we deferred to their judgment. They instructed us how to use the whole house fan and warned us multiple times to make sure there are windows open when it is running so we do not burn out the motor.

Sara Gomez, Blalock's office manager, has guided and directed us through the process, and even answered an email question on a Sunday (!) even though it was not urgent. Post-install we had one small hiccup that Blalock quickly came out and corrected. I would describe Blalock's work as very precise -- they did what they said they were going to do, when they said they were going to do it, they were very tidy and clean, and they continually asked us what we wanted and worked with us to accomplish it. Can't ask for more than that.

They pretty much set everything up and the installation awesome and the process easy they guide you through it and is quick. We just had solar installed by Blalock Electric and we were extremely impressed with the entire process. Everyone who works for them that we came in contact with, were respectful and patient. They did all the paperwork, permits and electrical. Everything went very smoothly and we would recommend them to anyone who is going solar. Their pricing is pretty good too!

I had my solar installed by Blalock Electric...I obviously started the process with a certain amount of apprehension. Having to deal with trades always makes me nervous. Let me tell you that Nick is one of the most courteous, professional, and responsive business owners that I have dealt with. From the quoting stage with professional drawings, multiple visits to my home to make sure the process would go smoothly. Nick and team took care of the permitting, and installation. They installed a quiet cool system which is a whole house fan that has cut down on my AC by over 40%. His team installed the solar in one day, along with the quiet cool! They all came in masks and were incredibly safe. The work was very clean and they followed up multiple times to make sure my wife and I were satisfied. I am now operating at net ZERO!!!! Good morning,

Third contact today after leaving a message on Blalocks message machine last Friday before the 5:00 Pm closing time. I communicated their lack of responsiveness & my desire to have the company provide a bid given all the reviews I assumed were real and authentic here on Yelp.

The salesman who has just hung up the phone with me was more concerned about other solar companies bids and my reasoning for not selecting them, than he is of capturing my business. It's shocking to me that ""Nick"" the owner isn't concerned what so ever or more so that this sales person is fabricating parts of the story to account for his irresponsibility to the company he works for in garnering business.

When i asked that very question to the salesman if they ""even wanted my 23,000 dollars for solar panel installation"", he said ""NO"" .

If you want to do business with solar installation companies, electrical companies or this type of work, given the experience Blalock Electrical has displayed, my recommendation is that you not turn and walk away from them, but rather you turn and RUN!!!! These are very expensive installations and whomever you choose to do the work is supposed to warrant your roof for many many years. Be carful with their customers. Exchange a fair labor and parts with a work ethic and moral compass which represents the Nordstrom's or Tesla experience.

Blalock Electrical is NOT going to give you that experience. If you are interested in rolling the dice, may I suggest the 100's of other companies who want your business.

Their your dollars, you're installing solar to try and hang on to as many of your hard earned dollars as possible. Blalock electrical salesman was dishonest with me and deflective because he's either lazy or some other unknown reason. He had the audacity to say he lost my number, but had no trouble calling me back this morning, isn't that odd? Yes. I thought so too. Furthermore, he knew my home address because I gave him my plans from the initial installation of my existing 39 panel's and he dropped them back off on my porch. Why wouldn't he follow up on any other day? I don't know the answer to that either. Finally he mentioned today that he would need to install another sub-panel. I'm perfectly fine with that as well, but he refused to provide a quote to do all of the work. Why wouldn't an electric company just provide a quote and do the work? I'll tell you why, because the salesman too busy to do his job. To busy fabricating stories of what was or wasn't said during our conversation to cover his own bum, than to just do his job!

I'm not mad, upset or sad about this experience as much as I am in shock and awe. Money is tight for people during Covid and when general contractors are busy as in past years, they treat the customers as an option, not the priority you are.

Blalock Electric and Solar did a great job installing the system brokered by Wrede Whitney at Tier1 Power. Permitting went quickly, scheduling was easy, install went smooth, and the inspection was painless. I couldn't be happier with the look and early production numbers from our 19 LG 370 watt Neon R panels with Enphase IQ7+ microinverters. The Enphase IQ Combiner 3 with Envoy allows remote monitoring of the system via the Enlighten app which makes tracking system status and production easy. Blalock Electric and Solar painted the conduit to match our stucco and the roof tiles and made sure all panels were level and flush which looks amazing. I'm very impressed and will gladly recommend Wrede Whitney at Tier1 Power and Blalock Electric and Solar to anyone considering solar!
