I never felt like I made a bad choice and I would recommend them to everyone. The installation was quick and easy. Exactly the way we wanted it. The transition was painless and the payments are amazing. I can't thank you enough for your kindness and support in this trying time.

Blalock installed our solar panel system and upgraded our electrical panel. The permit process did take a lot of time and in that time we exchanged messages about the status of the project with several different people but once Sara Gomez was assigned to us, her communication was great and she really seemed to stay on top of everything and finally got us through the permit approval. The workers who came were very professional friendly. There was a small hiccup in the permit for the electrical panel which delayed things a bit but Sara was on top of it and kept me informed as to when the project would be completed. The system is up and running now and we are very happy with it. We would definitely recommend them to anyone asking about a reliable company to install solar.

Blalock Electric installed the PV system that I purchased through Tier 1 Power. Once all the approvals were received from the city and the HOA that I have to deal with, it took 2 weeks to get scheduled. Once it was scheduled, the installers were early to arrive on the morning of the install and they were very professional about doing there work. It took them 5 hours to install a Solar Edge Inverter and 17 LG solar panels which surprised me that they got it done so quickly.
We had to wait a week for the city inspector to come and inspect the workmanship and it took almost 2 hours to correct some ground wire connections in the inverter and reroute some of the wiring on the roof. Some of the wiring on the panels had dropped down and were touching the roof. Once the inspector had signed off on the installation, the office staff submitted the needed paper work to SCE to get the permission to operated so the system could be turned on. Somewhere there was an issue with the paperwork, so the PTO took a couple of extra days to receive. Once the PTO was received, the system was turned on almost immediately. I was told it was a SCE mistake.
I must thank the ladies in the office because I was always treated well and they always had the answers I was looking for.
The one area that they could improve on is by contacting you after the system is turned on to see if you have any questions about how the system is operating. I sent an email to the designer asking about how much of an output I should be seeing from the inverter so I would know if the system is operating properly. I realize that at this time of year, with short days, you don't get as much as you will in the summer but, it would be nice to have an idea of what to expect.
I will say this much, Blalock's installation is much nicer that another company who did an install next door using a similar inverter

I so regret giving a 3-star rating, because the solar work they did on our home was well done and looks great! However, with the solar we needed major roof repairs... a $30k job! If I were only rating the ROOF REPAIRS... It would be ONE STAR!! The roof repairs that were done, I can only pray were to code, as there was no project manager on site for the entire job, due to an emergency in his family. The crew was careless, unprofessional, extremely messy, leaving an abundance of trash all around my home for weeks! The quality of work we CAN see is far below acceptable! Plus... the workers were seen and left evidence of their drinking Modelo Negra beer while ON our job! They repaired the broken window the guys denied breaking, but the owner later admitted it was done by them. Even now, months later, every time I walk around my home and see the splatters of trim paint on my white stucco, or the sloppy and poor job they did painting the trim/eaves (plus it was only 1-coat which was supposed to be 2-coats according to the contract/and what we paid for), or the dangerous roofing nails I'm still finding on my grass and in my planters, or when I look at my broken planter, or crushed plants that did not survive... I shudder. We kept asking them to come back out and make things right, but they'd come when we were not home and do the bare minimum and sloppy job, and we'd have to call again. Such a hassle! If you're doing solar: count on a 4-star from me. It would have been 5-star if they hadn't removed my neighbor's electrical dead-front panel cover that I made them put back! (The panel was needed to pass inspection.) They then found us another ""used"" one and promised me it wasn't stolen.

Ryan from Blalock Electric came out this morning to do a pre-install site visit. He was professional, punctual, and efficient. He answered all of my questions and gave me a quick overview of what to expect. He I had read other reviews of Blalock, and I must admit that my expectations were high given the positive feedback left by others, and I was not let down. I look forward to working with this company.


Mike and his crew came out today from Blalock Electric to install our solar system. It is clearly not their first time! They arrived promptly and went right to work, and made quick progress with the install.
Mike was very professional and was more than accommodating in answering all my inquires regarding the install and operation of our new system. He confirmed my desire for placement of some of the system's components, and informed me of his install plans as they developed.

I highly recommend Blalock Electric. Clearly, this company has its act together. I wish all of my home improvement projects could go this smoothly. If I could give them a higher rating I would without a second thought. Great Job!!

Worked with Blalock thru Efficient Solar out of San Diego. These guys did a great job, did our roof (metal shingles) that other people shied away from. No hazzles, very patient with the SDG&E inspection.
