Scheduled technician visit to perform annual preventive maintenance on electric hot water heater. I specified to the receptionist that I wanted the technician to replace the sacrificial anode, and gave her detailed specifications so that the tech would bring the proper replacement anode. Mike, the tech, arrived on time, and was polite and professional. He acknowledged the information on the work order printout regarding the anode, and told me that he did not have the proper replacement on his truck. I was charged a nominal fee of nineteen dollars for the house call; but, no work was performed. He offered to reschedule the work with the proper part.

I ordered the replacement part online, and will look for a different plumbing contractor to perform the installation.

Best Home Services installed a new Carrier A/C unit in my home in 2017. Scheduled the install and everything went fine. City came out to do the inspection and noticed water under the unit inside the home as well as a loose cap on the drain tube. Inspector tightened the cap and said to keep an eye on the unit. The unit had brand new plywood installed underneath. Unit works great, efficient and my electric bill has actually been lower! Fast forward a few months and we noticed there was water puddling under the unit. We called for service and the technician indicated it was the type of filter we had. He advised to get a better quality A/C filter. We did that. Months later, noticed water again under the unit. The next technician told us to get a basic, cheap filter because the expensive filters make the unit work harder by blocking the air flow?!! At this point we were doubting the competence of Best technicians. Anyway, we switched back to the plain, cheap, basic A/C filters. Fast forward a few months and, again, there was water, yet again, under the unit. This next technician indicated that there were lines inside the unit which had condensation on them, which was normal. However, these lines were touching the outside wall of the unit and dripping on the new plywood instead of in the drain pain. He tested the unit inside and out, cleaned out the drain line, tested the draw, etc.- really gave it a thorough check and, again, we were advised to keep an eye on things. (I should mention we have gotten all recommended checkups during this time.) All was well for a while. However, here I am today, 6/17/2018, and I peaked around the unit inside the home and, AGAIN, there is water pooling around the bottom of the unit! I have scheduled ANOTHER service call on-line. I am NOT pleased to be having this SAME issue yet AGAIN! If this issue continues the plywood will start to rot! As more time goes by this could become an EXPENSIVE problem! While I like the unit I am not please to be dealing with this same issue AGAIN!

Stay far, far away from this company! I recently scheduled a plumbing and electrical tech to my house on a Saturday morning. Needed an estimate on a water heater replacement and repairs to some switches and outlets. I took the day off from work and sacrificed my pay for that day just to meet with them. However, they NEVER SHOWED UP!!! They had my phone and email address but didn't bother to contact me at all! How disappointing, unprofessional and just down-right wrong! Furthermore, their call center reps really have no clue about their own business and kept trying to up-sell system check-up services that I simply don't need. I have no choice but to spread negative reviews any chance I get. I'd give them zero star rating if that was an option.

I am very disappointed in this company due to being told by By Natalie the fee to come $19 a fee to maintain is $47!
He did not service he cleaned the drain and charged me over $300! I am disputing the charges as this was never discussed! Another rip off! Dont use this company!

I would love to give a zero star review, but you can't.

After calling them to come out to see if we could figure out why half the house was not getting proper AC movement, they informed us that the ducts for that side of the house were collapsing. We needed to have the old removed and new installed. After over $9,000 worth of work, the house can not cool itself. Now they are claiming that the air return can't do what's needed and we need to have something done to that. - BTW this is because the person who designed the new duct layout and product royally messed up. Long story short, it's been over a week of collective head scratching and still no fix. They estimate another almost full week of this runaround because while the solution was figured out on a Friday afternoon, so they didn't start working on it until Monday morning.

Meanwhile, the main area of the house rises in temperature to almost 85 with the air running, and I have a 4 year old and 2 year old in the house, who have to take a nap in the family room on the couch as their rooms increase in temp to almost 90 degrees.

I am sick to death of the ""We're sorry"", ""We understand"" routine, while NOTHING gets corrected.

I love how their website says, ""Living in Florida, the heat can be sweltering. Shouldn't Southwest Florida residents receive the same exceptional service for their home's air conditioning, too?"" If this is the case and is what you are looking for, then please for your own sanity, call someone else.

I had Best Home Services put in a new A/C unit. they charged me over ( 10,000 ) for a unit that should have been about 6,000.00 That was bed enough then they tell me when they came for my service call, that I needed a u/v system they wanted 1,655.00 for that and then tell me I also need a surge proctor. They wanted 1,200.00 for that. I found the u/v system for less than 600.00 and the surge proctor for 200.00 I want everyone to know how much they over charge everyone. very poor

5.22.18 Update. The services provided by Joshua B. of Best Home Services (BHS) were thorough and professional, and we recommend you consider talking with them. We also found the services of a competitor to be equally thorough and professional. Torn between two very good companies, the deciding factor was based on price. BHS quoted $625-$1200. The competitor quoted $300 with the final price at $325. We are pleased competition is good in SW FL. Good for customers and keeps companies focused on fair products and services.

5.20.18. Joshua Bostwick provided exceptional service at 10:30 pm and on a Saturday night. He was thorough and patient as he asked us a series of questions, and then he methodically eliminated any potential problems before making a recommendation that would meet our needs. We had excellent customer service from the very beginning when we talked with the answering service then the dispatcher and finally the technician, Joshua. When he arrived at our home the next day in 5 star service apparel, he was equally competent. If you need service, definitely consider Best Home Services.

I wrote a review on Friday praising Mike Horn, a tech sent to my house by Best Home Services. He did not complete the job he was sent to do and rescheduled himself to come back today. I waited until after 3:00 pm and then called Best Home to inquire about his delay and I was given no answer and they didn't seem to know anything about his appointment at my house. I learned (opposite of what I was led to believe by Mr. Horn) that he was an inexperienced tech and a relatively new employee. I now have to wait until tomorrow for a new thermostat by another tech. I've lost track of the many times someone has been sent for the same problem, which has yet to be fixed. I'm changing my rating to a one star for Mr. Horn because I need action, not words.

SCAM COMPANY! RUN !
unless you want to pay 500/ per hour labor cost. Got charged $2043 to replace a coil on AC unit that was under warranty.
No break down of parts and labor. When i contacted the manager i was talked down to as if i was an idot ( im a woman and live out of state = easy prey). Horrible company. My cousin owns an AC repair business in NJ and was appalled by the misconduct of Best Home Services.

I would not use this company ever again. My tenant called them to fix a faulty shower diverter. I usually do these repairs myself but I was unavailable so I told the tenant to call a plumber. What a nightmare. When I was finally able to go see the job that was done I was shocked! $876 for that! They put a round cover over an oval hole in the tub surround, that dark spot you see on the left side of the cover is an opening into the wall that the tech covered with silicone caulk. I Spoke with the manager, Steve McAnally, and he agreed that the repair was sub par and agreed to send a tech back out to put a beauty ring on to cover the hole.Good right....nope. I expressed my complete dissatisfaction with my whole experience and told him I would put a negative review on Google to that effect. He then sends me this email in an attempt to blackmail me from posting on social media:

I not sure why my honesty of a mistake would result in a poor review. Also I'm going to need a release sign saying your not going to bad mouth my company on social media before I install the cover plate. I will email it over to you so you can get it back to me before tomorrow's service. The job that you paid for is complete. Adding a Smitty plate is something I'm giving you not required. Please let me know how you want to proceed.

The worst part about this whole disaster is the diverter valve could have been replaced...probably a $20 part at Home Depot or Lowe's, I know because I have replaced it before on that rental unit about 10 years ago.
