UPDATED- I am changing this review to 4 stars because the owner Bruce has been in contact with me a few times to help resolve issues. They have changed some of their staff so hoping to use them again and not have the same issues this time.


I really wanted to love these contractors. They were super friendly and very helpful with my transition from VA to CA. They did some work on the beams while I was still in VA and it all went smoothly. Jason was great when I was communicating with him. Once I got here things changed. They didn't do requested work after numerous requests. Billing sent me the wrong invoice. They left a mess in my garage, and my backyard is full of drywall and paper towels wadded up. After requesting them to come back to clean up they did clean up the garage, did an ok job but it still needs a deep clean from all the drywall. They never put the screens back in, and came about a week later to do so. I also asked them to remove the contractor lock box and return my key.. Come to find they lost my key. A week has gone by now and no follow up with where the key is or if they will be paying to have the locks changed due to their negligence. I still have more work to be done which I requested multiple times but due to their lack of follow up I will not be using them.

Very poor quality work for unjustifiable high price, promised certain work for certain price, ended paying double cost for garbage and incomplete work, he claimed purchased materials that does not exist , and all lies in amount and prices, took way longer than what promised ....beware from such unethical contractors.

I recently had a complete remodel done on my 1110 sq. ft. 2 bed/2 bath condo by Banning & Son contractors.  The owner, Bruce, was very involved to make sure any issues were taken care of efficiently and told me to call him anytime if I had questions or issues.  Jason, the foreman on my job, checked in with me almost every morning to discuss current issues and ensure the job was being completed to my liking. I was also very pleased with the work crew and their professionalism.  They worked very efficiently as a team, completing the job in just one month.  This was important to me since I moved out to a rental unit April 1 and was able to move back in to my condo by the end of the month.  I was impressed they were able to install my new kitchen and bathrooms, soundproof the ceiling, re-mud all the walls and ceiling, install new LED can lights and other lighting fixtures, new flooring and paint in such a short time.  Everything is new and beautifully done.  They cleaned up each day before leaving and did a thorough cleaning at the end of the job, washing down the front walkways and even cleaning all the windows.  I feel their prices are very fair for all the work done.  I highly recommend Banning & Son for any contracting work.

Bruce and his team are working on a major deck/hillside project next door to us, and they're doing an amazing job with a difficult situation. We've talked to Bruce and his crew a lot as we're doing a front-yard project at the same time ... they're friendly and helpful. We would certainly use Bruce and his team on any future projects!

Bruce was so helpful! He came out to fix two of our tubs. He recommended us directly to California Bath and Kitchens, so we could get a better price. He didn't have to do that, so I really do appreciate his professionalism.

Friendly guy, but extremely flakey. Came to look at my project, promised to send a quote. After several emails and phone calls, 7 weeks later they are completely unresponsive.

Extremely disappointed in the lack of professionalism or follow through.

Bruce is my guy! He did an excellent job on our home. He also used quality sub-contractors as well. The most important thing is that he listened to what we said, he was honest, and didn't finish the job until we confirm we were satisfied. I would recommend him to anyone looking to do big or small projects on their home.

They came out to fix 3 leaks, a tub, a sink and a shower.
Great work, friendly and reasonably priced.
I will have them also do my plumbing for my bathroom remodel.
Very happy to find a good plumber from the neighborhood.

I'm sure they do good work as per the other reviewers, which was reason for my original contact to them, but I thought the email communication was unprofessional. After using the contact form on the site to inquire about services, I received an email asking if I know them. They said this is because their work is by referral only. I replied and said there shouldn't be a contact form on their page to which I got a response that said there's no need to get upset. I think the situation could have been handled more professionally from the start. Also, if the business is referral only, there should not be contact information all over the website. At least from my cursory glances, there doesn't seem to be anything stating referral only.
