My elderly parents used Baker Bros. to clear a clogged pipe. They had to come out three times. The first time they didn't have the tools they needed. The second time they came out and did the work and then wanted more money when they assured my father there would be no additional charges. The sink clogged again a week later, my dad called and was assured again they would come back out at no additional charges. A different guy came back, fixed the problem and then wanted $370. My father refused to pay and told him to call his office . The Baker Bros. plumber actually threatened to call the police if my father did not pay him. My father told him to go ahead and call the police(why wouldn't he just call his office??) He left and came back in a few minutes later(without knocking, just let himself in) and advised them the police had been involved and there was now a lien on their property. First of all, what kind of customer service is this?? If you ask me, this was intimidation because my parents are elderly! Second what kind of an idiot thinks the police get involved in these matters. Can't believe Angie's List endorses this company.

I got estimates from 4 plumming companies on a total bathroom redo. Baker's Brothers gave us the best price and was willing to work around our very varied schedule.
They sent out Troy, really good guy that works hard. His running mate Cody did good too. I was not impressed with the work of the shower pan people and would not have them back if I did another Shower Pan.

Baker's Brother's worked around our schedule and was very patience with the time frame it took us to get each step completed before having them back out. When we had to do a recalculation of the layout, not an issue. I did have to remind them that the area was decreased and therefore estimate needed to be decreased.

My husband and I really enjoyed working with Troy and Cody and would call and ask for them again.

My biggest complaint is, when you say I'll call you back......call back.

Our mistake was not reading the reviews. Thank you Baker brothers for the time lost over the Thankgiving holidays. After waiting on Friday for a call back promised in the pm, it never happened, we had to call. Oh, we were still on the list for service, you called back and said a plumber was on the way. We waited and finally the plumber called. He then referred us to a third party for tile work since he dld not believe this to be a plumbing issue
.
Plumber called told my husband he did not want to come out to Murphy this late.
After talking to a manager my husband said we will use someone else.

Baker brothers lost out on $1200.00 worth of service, however, by reading other reviews it would have been much more.

Their ads fooled us once, but will make sure family and friends know our expierence with Baker Brothers.

This company spends a lot of money on tv advertising...what a waste. Need to redirect their $$$$ toward employee training. They screwed up my appointment TWICE in one day. Would I use them in the future? I think not!!!

My recommendation is you do NOT use Baker Brothers. Cost me $171 for a 15-20 minute task (unclogging a sink). This was after a $50 'discount' they applied after the confusion/misunderstanding on the pricing was discovered. 0 stars.

I called Baker Brothers Plumbing for a routine clean-oput of a stopped up kitchen sink. The man they sent to our home did not have the proper snake that is needed to use through the normal main line clean out. He used his small hand operated snake to clean out the waste water line from under the sink. In doing so, he punchtured a hole in the kitchen sink drain close to the wall. The stoppage in the kitchen sink drain is fixed but the plumbing under the sink leaks and the he quoted $700 to fix it!

I paid them $267 to un-stop the kitchen sink. DO NOT use Baker Brothers Plumbing in Dallas because they may do more damage to your sewer system than they fix and they have the guts to quote you a unrealistic price for fixing it.

I called Baker Brothers for a leak in my ceiling. It turned out to be the guts inside the toilet tank upstairs needed to be replaced and the wax ring under the toilet needed to be replaced. They cut a hole in the ceiling in my kitchen which they said they do not repair. After 20 minutes of mealing around and going back and forth to truck my quote was $400 or I could just get a new toilet from them for $700. I forced the guy to show me in laymen's terms what the problem was. I have experience with changing these parts so I knew what they would cost and how much work was involved. I looked at the guy like he was insane. So I had to sadly pay $250 for the house call/inspection. Then $30 and 1 hour later I fixed it myself. This company and its employees are very dishonest. DO NOT CALL THEM. Yes they do get there fast just so they can rip you and undeserving people off.

Man If only there were the ability to rate a zero I think this company may have a LOWER score than pathetic. I contacted Baker Brothers to come give me an estimate for an apparent leak for a property in Rockwall. Initially they sent out a plumber or helper that turns on the meter (That was off for a reason) and for thirty minutes is at the property with access code to enter the property but chooses not to enter, all the while by his own account the meter is continuing to spin with no letting up. Now I asked him, can you please shut the water off, enter the property with the code you were given and make sure you didn't just flood the place while running the water for thirty minutes and walking around the outside of the house. His response ""Oh well I'm sure its OK, but yeah I'll check to make sure the leak isn't INSIDE"". REALLY? Maybe I'm the idiot but i think i'd make sure that the leak wasn't in the house FIRST as water flooding a wood floor or cabinets etc is going to damage them a lot more and a lot faster than water leaking on GRASS or sidewalks! After this lovely enlightening moment, the kid was ""Going to have to call me back"" which never happened. What I received next was a call from their office (office personnel was very friendly by the way) telling me that a leak technician was being sent to the property to isolate the damage and give me a quote for repairs. Only after the tech arrived did he call me to let me know the charge was $291.00 PER HOUR! I advised him that A: Sounded steep, and B: Left me feeling uneasy about even proceeding with them as I have no guarantee that you will find it in an hour or 12 hours. I had to call the office again the following day to ask for a receipt for the trip charge and was informed that their leak Specialist would call me about the leak detection charges. ""Steve"" the specialist calls me later that day to let me know it is in fact $291 PER HOUR at which point I let him know that I had spoken with 2 different companies in the area that BOTH gave me a flat rate for leak detection UP FRONT, his response was ""Well WE don't"" but he continued to attempt to sell me NOW on his abilities to locate leaks, and how he had 24 years experience locating leaks. I asked Steve in TWENTY FOUR years of locating leaks I would bet that you have a pretty good idea how long a leak detection is going to take within 5 minutes of being at a property he said no it depends on the size of the house for me to know that. Guess what.... Steve still could give me a number when he knew the size. Now I come on here for reviews of the company to see if this is an isolated thing or a habitual issue and it sure looks like Baker Brothers makes their profits larger by bilking customers who likely feel that they have no choice given the situation and with a technician standing right in front of them convincing them of the problems.

I hope that anyone reading this is doing so BEFORE doing business with these crooks and chooses another company. I'm not going to name any companies specific because I don't want to limit credibility but I was able to find TWO other companies very quickly in the Rockwall area that were up front, polite and gave me solid prices up front and in writing. Both told me that going with a plumbing company giving me an hourly rate for what I needed would have only been my first issue, because I would likely be tagged with additional unnecessary charges that were likely gouging me at the same time.

After posting the 6/1 review I talked with Joel, a supervisor, and discussed my experience with Baker Brothers, he says they have a 100% customer satisfaction
guarantee, and agreed to refund my 302.81 service call. I was going to file a complaint with the BBB but called them fist to give them a chance to resolve the issue. They handled it to my satisfaction. So, from my experience with Bakers Brothers Plumbing if you have a bad experience with them, bring it to their attention and they will make it good.

They are way overpriced!! After you've had them do work you'll have a hard time arguing you've been overcharged because they just open their ""books"" and show you their prices for that job/part. But do yourself a favor and get a second quote from another plumber for the same job/part -- even just ask over the phone -- and you will see just how unnecessarily and outrageously overpriced Baker Brothers is in comparison to other plumbers out there. Their plumber came and less than thirty minutes later I was over $260 poorer.

I can't even be sure their plumber replaced all the parts he said he did and charged me for, another plumber I have since called to my home took a look and told me only half the parts are new. He also said the part that was replaced should only have cost around thirty bucks.

Either the plumber didn't know what he was doing and made a simple job much more complicated, or he knew exactly what he was doing and took advantage -- either way I was ripped off as a result of his ignorance or manipulation.

Their customer service is so atrocious, I can only imagine they're still in business because they're so successful at ripping people off.

Their plumber also cut out a piece out of my drywall and never replaced it or closed the hole in the wall. Apparently they only do plumbing so fixing the hole they made is not in their job description or part of their responsibility. Basically, they told me I have to hire someone else to come finish up their job.
