We are considering some pool renovations and while looking at reviews I see nome negatives on Longhorn. I want to give you my experience with them.
Our pool was built by Cody Pools back around 2002, give or take. They changed ownership somehow around that time. It turned out they never filed a permit of any type.
When we discovered this a couple years ago, they refused to help. I suspect they only transferred ownership within the family but I did not research so it is only my suspicion. Regardless, they hung up on me saying it was not their responsibility while refusing to let me speak with a superior.
I contacted Longhorn looking for help as they had done some minor repairs over the years which we were perfectly happy with.
Peggy Faust took care of the whole issue. It cost us plenty of money; closing old permits, opening new ones, inspections, etc. But as far I could ascertain, Longhorn only made a couple hundred bucks.
We feel indebted to Longhorn. We were not high value customers and they happily helped us out.

We used Longhorn Pool Company recently and were very satisfied with the process, start to finish. We had a unique situation where the house was also being remodeled completely, so the pool was unfinished for months, but once we were ready to complete, they got in gear and did a great job. I would use them again and have recommended them twice already in the last 30 days. Great job guys, we love it!

Please refer to google reviews for even more TERRIBLE reviews. I just posted one there and will post everywhere that I can to help others avoid these scam artists. I wish I had read all of the reviews before we hired them. The short version is that we spent over 40k and just a month in there are cracks everywhere! They refused to send anyone out, after several requests, to look at the pool. They avoided us at every opportunity. The owners are awful! Longhorn also goes by Austintatious Pools, probably another scam.

We love our pool and the service we have received from Maurice. Lisa goes out of her way to get our issues resolved very timely. Austintatious Pools built our pool and designed our deck and outdoor kitchen area where we spend a great deal of time with our family.

I contacted 4 pool companies in the Austin area to have tile work done. Three of the reps took borderline measurements. Estimates were incomplete at best. Only one person (Peggy Faust of Longhorn Pool) took the time to really look at the pool tiles and make sure there was no other structure issues. She drafted separate quotes for each item I wanted done. It took us a month to make the decision to go with Peggy's recommendations and we are so glad we did. We went to the showroom to go thru tiles and Peggy helped immensely getting the right color and look we were going for. It took them only a week and the pool looks new again. The two man team they sent did outstanding work. And since the pool wasn't drained dry, the sent a pool guy to clean out the debris and get the chemical balance back and he did a great job. I'm hoping in 2016, I can have them redo my patio as well!

I wish we had consulted with Longhorn Pool Service/Austintatious Pools before we had our pool remodeled by another contractor. We had Longhorn come out to repair 4 sections of our concrete pool decking that had partially collapsed and pulled away from the coping/gunite (prior to the pool remodeling project), and to repair a short retaining wall that was collapsing because the wall footing was not formed or poured correctly. The crew repaired the concrete pool decking and reinforced it properly and also poured a stronger footwall to keep the retaining wall from collapsing in the future. The crew had to visit several vendors to find the small river rock (""Chatahoochee rock"") that matched the existing pool decking surface, and we can't believe how close the new sections match the existing sections! Thorough cleanup when they finished...couldn't be happier with the final results.

Love that we were able to design exactly what we needed for size, depth, seats, color, ect. It was great working with Michael, the owner. Our pool looks amazing and has now been in for a few years.

We've used Longhorn Pool Service to maintain our pool and hot tub for over 10 years. Weve never had anything except excellent service from them. We recently needed a repair on our hot tub and we needed it quickly. They jumped on it and had it up and running again within two days. We would definitely recommend Longhorn Pool Service to maintain or service your pool.

Longhorn continues to provide my pool service every week and to handle repairs as they come up. I haven't had any problems with the re-surface from last year, and am extremely pleased with their reliability and responsiveness.

Longhorn pools: Kept our pool really clear this summer.

That being said, they also attached the pool sweeper into our bank account and put the power to MAX - we cannot believe how much they charged for service.

Poor communication compounds this problem - Every week the technician leaves a carbon copy of their work tasks under the door mat - but with no dollar amounts. No idea what they are charging each week until the monthly bill arrives. Add to that a lady who can get downright rude in communication via email or phone and we are leaving them behind. Forget it.

They took our recently refurbished pool sweeper and returned it 'fixed' with a $100 charge and no indication of what they did or why they did it. It was not broken to begin with.
