Technician wanted to charge me $3499.00 to replace/install a small 30 gal electric water heater. Shameful.... I passed on his offer. On his way out, he said ""Thanks for wasting my time""

I am going to sue this company. Two days ago, I had a water leak in my garage. I called them up and after some time a technician came out. He spent several hours probing all of the outlets from the city water source and the inlet piping to my home and could not determine the cause of the leak or reason for low water pressure. After that he inspected the water heater and said the casing was broken. His entire attitude was defensive as I just wanted to ask questions. I asked if the unit could be repaired and he said no and that I needed a whole brand new unit at $3,000. He proceed to purchase a new unit from Lowes and returned home to me. After dismantling the ""broken"" unit, he installed the new unit. Guess what....the water was still leaking on the floor. He was puzzled and did not know what to say. I asked him to look at the baseboard behind the new unit and sure enough water was coming from a broken pipe behind the dry wall. He never bothered to initially look behind the unit to see where the water was really coming from. He then quoted me $1,500 to cut out the drywall and fix the broken pipe, saying it would be half the cost of a new water heater. Elapsed time of this effort was over three hours. It was 10:30 PM late so he went home promising to come back the following morning. Next day, he arrived at 11:30 AM and proceeded to cut the drywall and repipe the broken unit... that to another 3 hours. After that we tested the faucets and showers in my home. Pressure was low and so proceeded to quote me $480 a piece for two new pressure valves for the bathtubs. Finally, when he handed me the bill I was shocked to see an invoice for $3,175. This was after he had quoted me $1,500 the previous day. Looking at the invoice there was no line item itemization....just a grand total of over twice what he said earlier, As a result, after deducting the cost of new inflated parts, the labor I calculated was over $2,000 for three hours of work...that comes to $ 667 labor cost per hour. Average hourly cost for a plumber is from $45-$150 @ hour. STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY.

There are a thousand AC companies in Tampa, and Id call any one of them before using And. Our AC stopped blowing cold air, and even though they had bad reviews they were willing to come out same day (which they did). Luckily I had another (much more reputable) company come in after them, but I'll get to that in a minute.

Anyway, the ""technician"" from And looked at my AC unit, and told me that I needed a new compressor ($405), since I might be under warranty $380. But then, since a coolant leak caused the compressor to go bad, he would have to look for the leak. Which he couldn't do until he replaced the compressor. His opinion was it was the main coil in my (less than 5 year old) air handler, as these were known issues with my type of air conditioner. This would cost me at least $1800.

He then says he wouldn't even bother with the compressor if I didn't also do the coil (if could even find the part, he says). He then launches into a speech about how I should probably just replace the whole unit, because I'm likely going to keep having issues. I told him that was a lot, but I was getting another opinion.

Long story short, the next company came to my house an hour later, put in a new compressor for $280, and said my AC is in otherwise great shape (""Yeah, it's pretty much brand new"" they told me.) My AC is cooling perfectly now, and I learned not to waste my time with poorly reviewed companies.

We had them come out to fix our disposal as it was leaking. Was told we had a backup in the sink snd they would need to use some special machine to unclog it. It ended up costing us over $1000 for a new disposal and unclogging the sink. Think we got taken on this and should have called someone else. Had no problem with our technician who was very nice. Don't think we will use this company in the future.

I called this company for a clogged toilet and shower backing up. I live in a mobile home. He said he had to look under my trailer. When he came out from under I was told that I should replace the pipes. He said the main pipe that everything was connected to was damaged. Was told it had slot of dimples due to previous snakeing of the pipe. I was also told it was sagging in the middle. I was quoted a price of $8,675 to fix completely and guaranteed for 25 years. I asked how much to just unclog it. Was told $569.00 and not responsible for any damages. My son in law had a friend who works in construction building large companies. He came and looked at it and told me he had a worker that could fix it for $500.00. He said I was being taken advantage of. They came a couple days later and fixed the problem completely. Please get a second opinion before going with this company.

I called And Services out to quote for a new tankless gas water heater and they quoted me $6700.00
I had to ask for the Rinnai model number they were quoting for and the salesguy wrote it as
RSC199IN so I looked up this model online and the average cost of this machine is $1680.00,
My husband then asked how long will it take to replace the water heater and the technician said a few hours!
We also noticed that the water heater they quoted us on was for internal use only and our water heater that was being replaced is on the outside wall of our property, remember the technician came to the house to quote!
The other thing I want to point out is there is easy access to the water heater being replaced no obstacles and all plumbing/gas/electrics are already there.
Quick math's tells us they are charging $2500 an hour for labor, ""WOW"" ok... let's be kind and take $500.00 off for incidentals, which now bring's the hourly labor rate down to $2250.00.
DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY THEY ARE EXTREMELY EXPENSIVE AND NOT KNOWLEDGEABLE

Price is high and after service is terrible. We had them come out for sewer smell and clog of the toilets. We spend about $9,000 and we still have the sewer smell. The manager told us to wait for investigation and visit to our home, but didn't show up and he will just call after 3pm. The manager never called back and wanted to charge another $1,700 for the smell from the tub. Unprofessional and not carrying the customer.

Tried to rip me off by telling me my unit was not under warranty any longer. Gave me a $1600 estimate and even after I proved to them parts were still covered, never lowered the estimate.

Stop responding to me and the Better Business Bureau. WHAT A SHAMEFUL COMPANY. ripping off a senior citizen, while I underwent surgery for cancer. Took 45 day to get part.

Terrible service. I made an appt. a week in advance, called the day before to confirm between 9-11 a.m. next day. TOOK THE DAY OFF FROM WORK FOR NOTHING. I called @ 11 a.m. asking where is the service tech? I was told he's going to call me in 10 minutes. 11:45 I called AGAIN stating still no service tech. I was asked if I would like to reschedule!! SERIOUSLY?! I hung up the phone. ABSOLUTELY DO NOT USE THESE PEOPLE. Find someone more respectful of the customer!!!

If I could leave no stars I would this is the worst company you can hire.. they used duct tape to fix my ac unit instead of replacing the duct work. Please never use then and end up like my family and I of thousands of dollars in the hole.
