I'd been looking to get rooftop solar for years but since my electric bill typically wasn't that high it never made sense. With prices coming down and the federal tax credit going to expire after 2021, I looked into it once more.

After evaluating four installers and rather quickly dropping two from the list, it came down to Alltech Solar and another. Ultimately I picked Alltech and was quite happy with the experience.

During the sales process, I talked with Ken and found him to be very knowledgeable and easy to speak with. He answered all my questions, even over email, and waited patiently for me to work through the vendor evaluation process. I never got the sense of being rushed or pushed into anything. All Ken needed was some basic info about your electrical usage, like from the SDG&E bill, and he provides a clear write up of the recommended system size and panel layout.

Once the layout was created and city permit obtained, the installation was all done in less than a day. Chase, the project manager was easy to work with and his installation crew was courteous and cleaned up quickly. They only needed to cut the power for a short time and for only part of the house so it didn't disrupt my working from home. (There was a bit of noise from the installation of hardware on the roof and along the wall but that was expected as they'd be working directly over my home-office.) Once they're done, your system's power generation data is sent to Enphase, the maker of the inverters and load center where all the power consolidates to. They have nice apps for your phones to track energy production and a website to see the same thing if you don't want to install more apps. Overall it was a really good experience with Alltech.

was on the phone with one of the guys and he went really into depth about their history and their certifications which was great. i had my kid on my lap and she was cooing and he said ""hey tell that kid to be quiet, we're doing business here."" WHO TF DO YOU THINK YOU ARE?! she barely made a couple of sounds. anywho, I will not be working with this company and will not tolerate that kind of customer service.

Chase, Ken and crew did a great job installing our solar system. They also performed some other electrical improvements, including the installation of a car charger within our home, and the installation of some dedicated circuits for a fridge. The team took pride in not only installing the system, but ensuring it was done to a high standard. I received bids from 5 different installers and I appreciated the honest and direct information that was provided by Ken. The team gave us a few alternatives and helped us evaluate the pros and cons of each. If you're looking for an honest and professional local company, look no further then All-tech.

I just got my solar installed by All tech solar and they did an awesome job. I looked all around San Diego and orange county before deciding to go with these guys. They had the best price around but most importantly to me Ken was very informative about solar and how it works and the different types of panels and which one would be right for my house, along with the different options in mounting the panels. Talking to him was completely different than talking to all of the other solar companies, which focus probably 95% of their time telling you how much your going to save with solar but never get into the panels themselves and what type of Panel they are trying to sell you . I also liked that they have been around for a long time and one of the first people to start doing solar. With so many fly by night solar companies I felt very comfortable with going with them knowing that there is a good chance they will still be around throughout the 25 year warranty of the panels. Highly recommend. Hands down great customer service and they did a great job. Oh and also liked that they worked with my roofer in order to not void my roof warranty, my roofer needed to install the brackets for the tracks. So they coordinated so my roofer can install the brackets first and then All Tech can come in to install the panels and the rest of the system. Giving them

We used Alltech Solar a few years back to re-install our solar system when getting a new roof. They really know what they're doing! They worked well with the roofing company to get the right supports installed and did a fantastic job with installation. They were always responsive and on top of things. Chase even follows up with us routinely and at one point contacted us because a micro-inverter was down and we didn't know it; but he did and let us know. He even came out and fixed it. We now reach out to Alltech/Chase for any electrical/solar needs and if it's something they don't do, they have good contacts and know the good local companies to refer us to. I couldn't be happier.

Cyrus from Alltech Solar was very knowledgeable and helpful when I was deciding what type of solar installation I wanted. His crew was extremely organized and they had the whole installation up and running after the permits were issued. They took care of all the permitting with SDGE and walked me through everything. I haven't had any issues with the installation and the online app to graph the service works great. They guarantee all their work. I'm very pleased that I chose them. A friend of mine went through a broker to set up her service and has had nothing but trouble. Their prices were extremely reasonable and less than the other quotes I obtained.

Alltech Solar lived up to their reviews. I could not be happier with their customer service level. Best in class for sure.

Now, the process involved in getting solar can be long and tedious. In our case, like many, it involved several different parties:
Alltech Solar
Us
Our Bank
Our HOA
SDGE
The City of San Diego

You can imagine with all those parties in the mix, how easy it could be for someone to drop the ball. What I really appreciated was how on top of it Cyrus and Chase were on everything that was in their control.

Cyrus was able to give me an initial proposal after just a quick phone conversation. He set up an on-site visit 2 days later. He sent us an updated proposal just 3 days after the on-site visit. He even helped us answer the questions our HOA had.

He completed blue prints in less than 2 weeks. Once we approved them, he applied for a permit from the city. The city permit took about 6 weeks. That was probably the longest part of the process, but totally out of their control.

Chase and Cy were great responding to my many status inquiring emails in those weeks. Once we were approved, they scheduled the roofers to come out just 3 days later on a Wednesday, and the roofers were done with the roof by that Friday.

Alltech installed the actual panels the following week in less than 2 days. They got the City Inspector to come out just 2 days after that. We passed inspection that day and Chase submitted our net metering application to SDGE that Friday. One week later, SDGE turned on our system. The whole process took about 3.5 months and most of that was our HOA, our bank approving our loan, and the City approval process (5 weeks for our HOA and 6 weeks for the City).

I can't say enough great things about Chase and Cy. They are super responsive, quick to answer my questions, had a crew that really seemed to know what they were doing, and were just really pleasant to work with. They set us up with an app to track our solar panels, filed for our warranty for the panels, and gave us a nice binder with reference material for the system.

I highly recommend them.

After interviewing 6 different solar companies I went with Alltech Solar. I chose Alltech Solar for three reasons. 1) I liked that Chase/co-owner came to meet with me and was the first company not to do a hard sell. He allowed me to make an informed decision. No pressure whatso ever. 2) They had the best price compared to the other companies that offered equal systems. 3) They had awesome Yelp reviews that seemed authentic and detailed.

There are 4 stages to installing solar. 1) Design the system and submit to the city for approval. When I signed the contract, they immediately prepared the system layout they would be installing and submitted it. The approval for the system would take about 30 days for city approval. It approved in about 25 days. 2) When it was approved they quickly scheduled an appointment within 5 days. Most of the other cpmanies were booked a month or two out after approval. 3) The day of the install they showed up on time with a team of three installers. It was easy to communicate with the team and they let me know how long it was going to take and they stuck to the planned time frame. They cleaned up cleaner than when they arrived. 4) As much as I wanted to turn on the system that day, I was informed it would take a week for the city inspector to approve the system to be turned on. It actually only took three days for the inspector's approval. Alltech sent one of their techs to meet the inspector so I did not have to. 5) Chase came the next day to explain the whole system. He patiently answered all my questions and provided a detailed book on my system and the 25 year warranties on the panels and converter. He also gave me his number to call and ask questions as much as I needed.

I am very happy I went with Alltech and feel I was informed at every stage of the process. They may not be a big national company, but they beat the competition with better pricing and better customer support (based on a couple of neighbors who went with a big national company). And they offered the same and sometimes better warranties than the other companies.

They are easily a five star company.

After receiving bids from Sunrun and Stellar, we selected Alltech Solar based on the better pricing and the excellent reviews. They also had the most options for selecting different panel and equipment manufacturers. We ended up with a Panasonic system and Solar Edge inverter. Chase Carmody managed the process from proposal, through design, permitting and installation. The whole process was painless and Chase and his crew were great to work with and completed our new system very quickly. Their Team was very professional and always worked around our needs. They even helped us with some electrical work we needed in our garage to help facilitate our plug in electric vehicles.
I would highly recommend this company. They don't emphasize slick presentations, but they can answer your questions and get down to business, without going through high pressure sales tactics.
