We were forced to use this contractor since we paid AHS American Home Shield to take care of our small home fix-it needs since we're disabled and don't have the ability to do so ourselves. R&R are the most unprofessional, rude, questionable outfit we ever dealt with! From dealing with the dispatcher who is on some kind of power trip and doesn't allow us to speak and acts condescending on the phone with us; to the electrician who doesn't call ahead as promised to let us know he's running late, or rudely brings his wife/girlfriend to our home while working and seems very unsure about what he's doing and even shocked himself a few times. We do not feel comfortable with R&R's abilities and knowledge which appear limited. We asked AHS for another electrician for that reason, however they only contract with these losers who like to bully disabled seniors. Do yourself a favor and steer clear of R&R!

This company is terrible. I have a home warranty through American Home Shield (AHS). Allstar R&R Electrical was assigned to repair a couple of ceiling fans by AHS. They came out on July 11th and diagnosed a problem with remote receivers in the fans; took the bad receivers and told me they would be back out in a few days to finish the repair. I contacted them numerous times since by phone and they tell me they have no record of this repair (even when I provide them with the invoice and job number from the receipt the technician left me). As I write this on August 6th, my fans are still broken, now have missing parts thanks to R&R, and I have no idea when/if this will be resolved. AHS hasn't been any help either.

I was scheduled to have this company come out by AHS, my insurance company. The tech arrived and within minutes determined my attic fan motor was dead, and needed to be replaced. He was very friendly, and said it would take a few days to come in, they had a lot of work lined up but they would come back as soon as they could. 1 month later, and several calls to AHS, and to this company, and they did not have the part, didn't know who I was, knew who I was but didn't have the part, the part was on back order, then finally they received the part and scheduled an appointment. I called the company the day they were supposed to come out and they did not have the part, and the person who contacted me was fired. Eventually, I spoke to the owner who was extremely rude, and spoke down about his former staff member he fired as a result of her inability to do her job. I felt as if it was my fault they hired this team member, or it that it was a month and they didn't have my part based on my conversation with the owner. Eventually, they made up for their mistake and a tech came out the same day they were initially supposed to, just later in the day. The tech was the same one who came out to find the motor was dead, and was again friendly and apologetic regarding our wait for the part. Come to find out, he had the motor within 2wks of leaving my house initially, and nobody on his office staff side knew anything. I called the company after the tech left to give him a compliment for the excellent service, however was not happy that I waited a month, for something that could have been done within 2wks. I wish this company the best of luck, however would pay for them to come to my house.

Also an American Home Shield customer, and I have to say that I think most of the issues/complaints stem from the home warranty company. We had our main breaker flip and couldn't get it to flip back on. Daniel came out on June 5 and got it on for us. This past weekend, we had problems with it again. Because it was a Sunday and we knew AHS would never get anyone out there, we called R&R directly. I called the owner, Richard, and he dispatched Daniel on a Sunday, who got it back on for us and took all sorts of photos. Daniel even remembered from his first visit that I am on injections for a chronic illness that must stay refrigerated. He let us know to call AHS in the morning and report that we need a new panel because the current one was not repairable (our house was built in 1989 and it is the original.) Overnight, it also fried one of the 220 legs of the meter. Tommy (Tomi?) in the office worked with Daniel and AHS to try and get authorization, and AHS dragged their feet. I had someone in the authorizations department actually tell me that it is ""just policy"" that they have to wait 24 hours before they can authorize something. I didn't even have enough power in the house to run the coffeemaker and our aquarium at the same time (no AC, no dryer, no stove, etc.), but they wanted to follow policy! Tommy pushed the issue and kept calling them (yes, she has been overly assertive with me too, but it pays off in your favor as a customer because of AHS!), and Daniel called directly and got that authorization anyway. He came out and temporarily fixed the issue so that we could have power and stayed working until 11 at night! He then told us exactly what we needed to say to FPL so that they would come out and install a new meter (at midnight). Daniel was here the very next day to replace the panel. They went above and beyond and are amazing. If you don't get a response from R&R, I would suggest calling AHS and finding out if they're the hold-up first.

Very dissapointed, had appointment scheduled for between 8 and 12 noon today, dispatcher claims he called several times at 7:35 am which he never did. Customer service is horrendous and seems to not care about much at all! Will not send a positive review until he actually shows up and gets the job done for the ""New"" scheduled appointment two days from now. I was set up with this company through AHS (AMerican Home Shield) for an electrical request. Already voting to steer clear!

I wish I could choose 0 stars because that's how utterly incompetent and terrible they were. So I get to my house and they part in my driveway taking up the whole driveway so as I pull up I can't even park in my driveway. Not a huge deal but this is common courtesy in the service business to not do that and use the street. Little did I know that was just the beginning.

I rent the home and my landlord has a warranty through AHS (American Home Shield) and to be honest, AHS has to be the only people giving these smucks business because no one who looks them up and sees reviews anywhere online would touch them with a 10-foot pole. AHS should just get just as bad a review for still sending these disaster electricians out to people's homes and employing them, to be honest as they would easily be out of business otherwise I'm sure. Shame on you American Home Shield.

So they come in with their boots and gear and my wife kindly asks them to remove their shoes before going upstairs as we just had the carpets cleaned 2 days ago and they are a very light beige where you see everything. The whole downstairs is tile so they only had to take them off when going upstairs or better yet bring booties like many other service professionals do who take any pride in their work and service. The guy literally looks at her and says ""NO"" and walks upstairs. If it was me I would have thrown him out right there but I like I said the landlord sent them and was paying the bill so I let it slide.

Next, they fuss around for a while and I bring up an outlet that had a problem and the guy literally grunted at me. This was the most miserable prick I've come across in a long time and he gave zero thought or care about what anyone thought, clearly, since it was the warranty company paying him who he must be on a do no wrong no matter what basis with. Maybe his family works there or something because it doesn't even make sense to me.

Then he proceeds to berate and argue with another customer waiting on him for about 15 minutes while he's in my home. Again, extremely unprofessional.

Finally, they come and say the problem is too complex for them and they can't do anything so essentially they just wasted out time for nothing. I thought licensed electricians actually fix electrical stuff but clearly either they aren't licensed or are just too lazy to do the job. Blows my mind but now we have to get someone else in here because all we ended up with was dirty carpets and scratched up walls from this guy. Oh and a mess they didn't bother to clean up as well.

DO NOT LET THESE GUYS IN YOUR HOUSE!!!

Worst electrician ever. I'm a general contractor and have been working hand in hand with electricians for the past 14 years. AHS assigned R & R to us to diagnose our electrical issues at home. I was advised by AHS that they'd be contacting me within 24 hours to schedule an appointment. 4 days went by and did not receive a call from them. I decided to give them a call and schedule a service date. When i called, a woman answered. Not only was she extremely rude, but she did not attempt to be helpful in the slightest bit. After scheduling a date, with a given 5 hour window (very inconvenient for people who have normal jobs), they called me last minute to tell me that they weren't going to make it. So i was obligated to reschedule and take off of work once again. Then on that date, they ended up pushing the time back past the window, even though i was already home waiting their arrival. Once the electrician arrived, within 5 minutes, he states that their aren't any issues, to call my local power company. Blaming them for any issues. He then asks for $75 and takes off. I contacted AHS about this entire experience, for them to tell me that they're the only company i can use and that the only thing they can do is have them come out once again. And that to me is a complete was of time seeing as how they only came to collect a guaranteed payment because of AHSs' mandatory payment upon contractors arrival, regardless of what they find or actually work on. They're a bunch of crooks with zero work ethics and without any concern for their customers safety. Compete slap in the face.

I need to echo all of these terrible reviews, and add that R&R literally almost burned our house down.
We, too, sought coverage for our electrical problem through American Home Shield and were routed through R&R.
I had to call them to schedule an appt and the lady who answered was brief and offered no information or help.
A friend of ours came out, showed us the problem, told us we needed a new Main Disconnect, and so we were prepared when the tech from R&R arrived (he did not call ahead at all). We already had our power disconnected, so the tech said he could remove the disconnect, wire everything together, and give us power until he could ""confirm AHS and come back in 1-2 weeks"". Sounded ok, I guess? At least we had power, right?
Fast forward 36 hours and our lights begin to flicker and the main disconnect STARTS SPARKING. Literally shooting sparks. We call R&R's emergency number repeatedly. No answer. No voicemail. No call back. NEVER. That *completely* unacceptable.
We called our power company (FPL) who came out quickly, very cautiously opened the panel, and proceeded to explain that the tech:
1. Should have done the job same day no problem.
2. DID NOT TAPE THE WIRES SUFFICIENTLY.
Because he did not put enough layers of tape, the wire eventually cut through and made contact with the metal housing and created the sparks and burn marks now covering our panel.
He explained that the house very probably would have caught fire had we not been home or been asleep, and that R&R's tech would have been in PRISON for his half-assed work. Mind you this is 8:00 at night and with our toddler home and our friends on their way to stay.
Needless to say we called AHS, completely REFUSED to have this company back out, and insisted we be allowed to choose our own licensed electrician and have AHS pay for it. It took several polite yet direct phone calls with AHS, but they agreed.
The day after all of this, R&R wanted to come out and do the work because they never bothered to call us back after our emergency calls and our voicemails to their main office. The nerve.
These people are DANGEROUS SCAM ARTISTS who just wanted to half ass their way through the payout. BEWARE.

Stay away from this guy at all costs. Connected with him in 2009 through another awful agency American Home Service (home warranty company provided by seller of our home) Had an electrical problem. Guy couldn't figure out whether it was power company problem or not. Obviously we didn't have him do any work. We didn't know he took out a permit anyway and never closed it. Now blocking valid electrical permit 8 years later. All he had to do was let Building Safety know he'd never done work. After repeated phone calls to his office (he was never there) two of his secretaries said they would take care of it. Never did! Never got a call back. His cell voicemail is full (obviously he never checks or deletes his voicemails) Stay away! Stay away! Stay away!!! Filed a complaint with State Professional Regulation. Plan to take this as far as it goes. Just wasted 4 hours at building safety trying to get this straightened out. STAY AWAY FROM RICHARD HORN!!!!!

I had the same issue as the other folks on here. AHS assigned R&R to me for a faulty breaker tied to my heating unit (meaning no heat in winter. Not ideal). I scheduled an afternoon appointment with them for a few days out, since I have a full-time job.

When the day rolled around, I had not received a call from their tech by 4:45 (they close at 5), so I gave them a call. The lady said she remembered me and remembered scheduling the appointment, but the appointment was nowhere to be found in the system, and she said the tech had ""gone home for the night"" (again, before 5pm. Work-life balance is great, but that's just excessive).

After I politely questioned their business practices, she got aggressive, told me there was nothing she could do today, but could schedule an appointment between 8am and 12 tomorrow. Having a full-time job, I declined and hung up, somewhat less politely this time.

After calling AHS to get a good company instead of R&R to come out and defrost my now ice-cold apartment, I learned that the R&R lady had called ahead, accused me of lying, and scheduled the 8-12 appointment anyway. This forced me to either cancel the work order with AHS and schedule a new one, which would result in an extra 48 hours of wait time, in addition to the weekend, or risk being stuck in a meeting between 8-12, making me forfeit the $75 home warranty appointment fee.

I strongly recommend against going with R&R. Now I sit by an inadequate space heater sipping hot tea under a thick blanket and wait for AHS to assign me a different contractor, hopefully one with employees who don't mind actually doing their job, before I freeze.
