The owners launched the company in the final months of 2003 following the arrival of their first child. In the beginning, Angie managed operations from home, recruiting clients, organizing visits, and handling the books while caring for their daughter. During this period, Anthony responded to service calls after his day job, and it wasn't long before the business needed more space. Within a year, with the addition of another child, they secured a commercial space, hired staff including administrative staff and repair specialists. Consequently, Anthony left his day job to focus completely on AA Service. The business expanded rapidly. With a expanding satisfied customers, AA Service and Repair - North Florida AC is firmly rooted in the Jacksonville community.
A native Arcadia, Florida, the owner is a former student of the high school in Desoto. He also holds a degree from the University of Florida. Recommended Customer Reviews
I made a big mistake using AA Service & Repair, contractor #CBC1256481, and not checking out their bad reviews 1st.
I thought the installation went fine because the company's procedure methods are all about checking off every step of the process. All things are done on a ""tablet"" (inc. signing in many places with small font). Pictures were taken of every part of work being done & signed off remotely by the supervisor.
The problems started 6-6-17, 11 days after the paid in full installation, when Ashley calls & wants to re-inspect to see if I need new electrical breakers. I was upset since this was the 1st time it was brought to my attention. Ashley was very curt & dismissive then threatened ""It is the owner's responsibility or they will put a lean on my house""! AA Service tech came to re-inspect on 6-8-17 & said all is well. The county inspector came on 6-16-17 & failed for 2 issues plus the breaker.
I was mad when I called back & had the same experience & conversation with Allison. She repeated the threat of putting a lean on my house & referred me to the pertinent sentence in the printed contract (that I received after the install). I see where it says it is the owner's responsibility but, the contract also states ""Breaker sizes that are needed will be given to homeowner at time of install"". This was not done, nor at time of AA Service re- inspection.
During another conversation with Ashley she said since I was not informed of breakers AA Service was willing to replace the breaker on the condition that I would go to ""review links"" she would provide & write a positive review! (Blackmail? extortion? bribery?) Since I was not willing to do that they refused to proceed further with the breaker issue. There are too many other outrageous details with the administrative staff to list at this point.
Dealing with AA Service & Repair & their aggressive, threatening tactics has been a nightmare. AA Service has NO ETHICS & NO INTEGRITY so BEWARE of them. I will be posting this letter to every resource available for the sole purpose of warning everyone NOT TO USE THIS COMPANY! Donna in N. Fl.
PS- I've been waiting to post this until it passed the county inspection.
They told me 2 lies when they came for a general inspection! I know this because I had a second company come out and I saw everything myself! They lied on what was wrong with my unit and they lied on how low my freon was and how much it was going to cost. They just wanted to sell me a new unit! So I paid an inspection fee of $100+ for lies.
I had an appointment scheduled for a AC tune up and cleaning today and was pleased with the service. They called about 20 mins prior to arrival which was nice and they were very courtesy, thorough and informative. I would recommend them to anyone in need of AC service or repairs
AA Service & Repair continues to do a great job for us. We have them out each spring & fall for a standard servicing/cleaning of our HVAC system. Would recommend!
Bad experience which lasted way too long. Owners have nothing to do with company and make their workers take the brunt of any issues. Would not recommend or use them again!
Not too bad of a company. Got my AC replaced the same day at an reasonable price. Only bad thing was, it failed inspection the first time around with the city but they came out and fixed the issue. But overall, AC works and my family is happy.
***Update on 7/7/17: I used this company again on May 16 to fix A/C; they replaced the contact for $349 although they first tried to charge $600. Felt ripped off but at least A/C was working. On June 17, A/C quit working again. I had a technician friend look at it this time. Turns out it was the same problem as before. The part AA Service & Repair replaced only lasted one month. The company refused to offer any kind of refund for the non-functional contact. I will say that the technician was courteous and professional. However please use this company at your own risk. I no longer recommend them and I will not use their services again.***
Our A/C started acting up during the middle of the night and I ended up having to shut it down when I woke up. I called AA Service and Repair (North FL A/C) first thing and was able to make an appointment at the time I asked for. The service technician Dustin showed up during the scheduled window and was very professional. He fixed the problem promptly and gave me additional advice so my unit will keep running smoothly. I highly recommend this company and Dustin in particular.
Let's be real, when it comes to a broken ac unit, you do whatever it takes in Jax heat to fix this issue. I found this company over a year ago when my old unit died and needed to be replaced. A year later, this company (Sean) has helped fix a service and customer service issue with my ac. Very appreciative.
I have had one unit installed and another unit repaired by AA Service. They have done an excellent job installing and servicing both units.
AA Service and Repair (Air Conditioning) - One of the most horrid experiences I have had with getting a repair done. Highly suggest you look elsewhere.
Technician came out on Friday and found the fried relay board in the air handler. Said they would have the part the next day and someone out there in morning. Wow! Impressed. Said I just had to pay the $800 up front. Um, ok. Hey I have a coupon for $150 off a major repair - can i use it? Sure! Down to $650...Nice! Now that I have the original part I realize you can buy this all over on-line for $50.
11:00am Saturday - haven't heard a thing. Call - our tech told you what? No we can't order a part on Friday night. Won't have it until Monday. We'll let you know.
10:30am Monday - haven't heard a thing. Call - oh sure we'll probably have it this afternoon and can come by.
4:20 pm Monday - tech finally comes and asks me if he's just there to replace a part they gave him. I'm like ..um, you tell me - didn't they tell you what was going on? He said not really, he just got diverted to do it.
After a conversation I also find out they only use a local supplier that is open Mon-Fri. So Friday - they knew there was no way they were going to pick up a part until sometime Monday. Are you telling me in this day and age when it took me less than 5 minutes to find a place to order this part on line that would ship overnight you couldn't do that for a customer? And why did I have to keep calling about an update or status? There was zero communication initiated by the company other than letting me know when the tech was finally on the way Monday afternoon to make sure i was home and twiddling my thumbs in my 97 degree house waiting for him. And to charge me a 800% markup? - sure some of that is labor but your techs were here for 1/2 hour each.
The techs themselves were nice enough, but whoever is running this company is robbing people blind, has no concept of good customer service/communication to institute, and needs to move beyond one local supplier only open M-F 8-5.
