Our Journey
Founded in 1976
I became a licensed general contractor at 23 years old. I had four years of hands-on experience in construction, restoring antique train cars, boats, and numerous interesting homes in the Bay Area.
I became one of the youngest licensed contractors in California back in 1976.
In 1986, I obtained a General Electrical Specialty license, followed by a Roofing Specialty license in 1987. I have resided on Shannon Road and served Los Gatos and nearby cities for the last 19 years. I plan to continue my electrical work and remain at my old Blacksmith's ranch in the Los Gatos foothills.
Meet the Business Owner:
Vincent Laughton
My great-great-grandfather worked as a logger in Redwood City in 1870. Another great-great-grandfather served as a horseback doctor in Searsville, where he convinced Leland Stanford in the 1800s to establish a university with a working farm after Leland sought his advice!
I grew up as the son of a TV repairman who ran a TV store called Rocket Science in the 1950s.
As a child, I helped my dad set up antennas and work on TVs. In the 1960s, he constructed the first cable system on the West Coast in Pacifica. I was raised in Redwood City and moved out of my family home in Los Altos after I got my license.
I resided in Palo Alto and San Jose before finally settling in Los Gatos in 1993. I take pleasure in restoring unusual cars (like front-door and amphibious types) and I showcase them in a parade annually as a hobby.

Vincent is my new hero. I had a chirping smoke detector - changed battery twice, unhooked it from the ceiling ... still chirped. I called Vincent who answered immediately at 6pm. To make a long story short, he worked with me on the phone -- at no charge -- to figure out the problem. He kept insisting that he would be glad to come out, but he didn't want me to spend the money when he knew the smoke detector wasn't the problem. Turned out he was right. Saved me a couple hundred dollars and lots of aggravation. A really nice guy, honest - and a great sense of humor as well. I know a lot of Yelp reviews aren't real -- this one is. He's my new electrician from now on!

Service within the hour as advertised. Fixed the problem, we had a nice chat and I learned something about fuse boxes!

Steve was prompt and helpful. I called him on a Sunday afternoon and he was there within an hour to help with a tripped switch. He also helped answer other questions I had.

Prompt and wonderful service! Called and had resolution to my problem (installing an outlet on a water tank in the middle of a storm at the very top of a hill) within a few hours on a Saturday night! Great rates, great service, can't ask for more!

Steve was prompt, work was tidy, and fast with resolution to my electrical problem. Fair rate too. This guy has been in the biz a long time, knows his stuff. I'd call him again when I need an electrician.
