Our Journey
Inception in 1976
I earned my general contractor license when I was just 23. Prior to that, I accumulated four years of construction experience, working on antique train cars, boats, and many distinctive homes in the Bay Area.
In 1976, I was one of the youngest contractors to receive a license in California.

I received my General Electrical Specialty license in 1986 and a Roofing Specialty license in 1987. For the last 19 years, I have called Shannon Road home while working in Los Gatos and its neighboring areas. I have no intention of retiring from electrical work or leaving my old Blacksmith's ranch in the Los Gatos foothills.

Vincent Laughton
In 1870, my great-great-grandfather was a logger in Redwood City. Another great-great-grandfather was a horseback doctor in Searsville, and he persuaded Leland Stanford in the 1800s to create a university with a working farm when Leland asked for his counsel!
I was raised by a TV repairman who had a TV store named Rocket Science in the 1950s.
As a kid, I assisted my father with antenna installations and TV repairs. He went on to establish the first cable system on the West Coast in Pacifica in the 1960s. I spent my childhood in Redwood City and left home in Los Altos once I obtained my license.
I lived in Palo Alto, San Jose, and finally settled in Los Gatos in 1993. I have a passion for restoring quirky cars (such as front-door and amphibious vehicles) and I display them in a parade each year as a hobby.
