For more than 30 years, A Able American Electrical Contractor has provided reassurance to both homeowners and businesses in Los Gatos and nearby regions. Our Journey
Inception in 1976
At the age of 23, I obtained my general contractor license. Before that, I had four years of experience in construction, restoring antique train cars, boats, and various unique homes in the Bay Area.
I became one of the youngest licensed contractors in California back in 1976.

I received my General Electrical Specialty license in 1986 and a Roofing Specialty license in 1987. For the past 19 years, I have lived on Shannon Road and worked in Los Gatos and the surrounding cities. I plan to continue my electrical work and remain at my old Blacksmith's ranch in the Los Gatos foothills.

Introducing the Owner:
Vincent Laughton
In 1870, my great-great-grandfather was a logger in Redwood City. Another great-great-grandfather was a horseback doctor in Searsville, and he persuaded Leland Stanford in the 1800s to create a university with a working farm when Leland asked for his counsel!
I was raised by a TV repairman who had a TV store named Rocket Science in the 1950s.
As a kid, I assisted my father with antenna installations and TV repairs. He later built the first cable system on the West Coast in Pacifica during the 1960s. I spent my childhood in Redwood City and left home in Los Altos once I obtained my license.
I lived in Palo Alto, San Jose, and finally settled in Los Gatos in 1993. I enjoy restoring unique cars (including front-door and amphibious models) and participate in a parade once a year as a hobby.
