Anna obtained her journeyman electrical license in 1978. She became one of the early female licensed electricians in Dallas, TX. For nearly a decade, she worked with The City of Dallas, gaining experience in motor and refrigeration circuits, security illumination, hazardous location wiring, and standard wiring. She was instrumental in the design and upkeep of electrical systems for various public buildings, including libraries, fire stations, and police facilities.
She exited The City the day prior to the birth of her first son (she has two grown sons) and opted to redirect her career for her kids. As her children were growing up, Anna handled small projects while her mother looked after them. With an increasing number of jobs, Anna had created a small business by the time her sons entered preschool.
