Anna obtained her journeyman electrical license in 1978. She was one of the pioneering women electricians in Dallas, TX. For nearly a decade, she worked with The City of Dallas, where she trained in motor and refrigeration systems, safety lighting, wiring for hazardous areas, and standard wiring. She contributed to the design, construction, and maintenance of electrical systems for libraries, fire stations, police buildings, and park facilities.
She left The City the day before her first son was born (she has two grown sons) and decided to shift her focus to her family. While they were young, Anna took on small jobs with her mother watching the boys. More jobs came her way, and by the time the boys started preschool, Anna had established a small business.
