In April 1981, the Humphrey & Associates Inc. Stock Ownership Plan and Trust acquired fifty percent of the common stock not held by Steve Humphrey. As a result, our employees, known as Associates, hold 50 percent of the company's stock. Once employees reach one year of service, they begin to earn shares, thus becoming part-owners of Humphrey & Associates. In 1981, the corporation generously gifted half the stock to employees through an employee stock ownership plan, truly making them ""associates"".

H&A began with a focus on electrical contracting and design projects in the Metroplex; in 1986, we opened a branch office in Mt. Pleasant to expand our services. In 1995, we added a mechanical group, providing customers with a complete MEP team package; later in the '90s, we opened a principal office in Fort Worth and another branch in Denton.
