Humphrey & Associates started its journey in Dallas, Texas, on April 1, 1977, as an Electrical Contractor focused on the Dallas/Ft. Worth construction markets. Since we started, our growth has been steady and well-managed. Our dedication to collaboration and engagement in the construction community has allowed us to grow and diversify.

In April 1981, the Humphrey & Associates Inc. Stock Ownership Plan and Trust acquired fifty percent of the common stock not held by Steve Humphrey. This means that our employees, referred to as Associates, own 50 percent of the company. After completing one year of service, all employees start earning shares, becoming part-owners of Humphrey & Associates. In 1981, the company took a notable step by gifting half the stock to employees via an employee stock ownership plan, genuinely reflecting the term ""associates"".

At first, H&A specialized in electrical contracting and design projects in the Metroplex; in 1986, we broadened our reach by opening a branch office in Mt. Pleasant. In 1995, we added a mechanical group, providing customers with a complete MEP team package; later in the '90s, we opened a principal office in Fort Worth and another branch in Denton. Every new service we introduce, whether past or future, aims to improve our customer service.

H&A is a family-run business, but it competes on a significant level. The management team regards the core 310 ""associates"" as our most valuable resource. Skyler obtained his journeyman’s license in 2016 and is currently working towards his master’s license.
