In April 1981, fifty percent of the common stock, excluding Steve Humphrey's shares, was acquired by the Humphrey & Associates Inc. Stock Ownership Plan and Trust. As a result, our employees, known as Associates, hold 50 percent of the company's stock. After one year with us, employees start accumulating shares, making them part-owners of Humphrey & Associates. In 1981, the corporation generously gifted half the stock to employees through an employee stock ownership plan, truly making them ""associates"".

At first, H&A specialized in electrical contracting and design projects in the Metroplex; in 1986, we broadened our reach by opening a branch office in Mt. Pleasant. In 1995, we introduced a mechanical group, offering a comprehensive MEP team package; subsequently, in the '90s, we established a principal office in Fort Worth and another branch in Denton.
