Knighten Electric is a locally owned, full-service electrical contracting firm with over two decades of experience serving the Lowcountry of South Carolina.
Oree Knighten began his journey in the electrical field over 25 years ago, gaining experience in domestic, commercial, and industrial environments.
Prior to relocating to South Carolina, he served as an electrical superintendent at a salt mine in Louisiana for over a decade.
In this role, he led the electrical program, developed safety protocols, designed programmable logic controls, and led a team.
Desiring to start his own business and spend more time with family, he and his family moved to the Lowcountry to establish Knighten Electric.
The Knightens, Amanda and Oree, proudly own Knighten Electric.
Amanda contributes her background in communications and sales to the construction industry in South Carolina.
Oree has dedicated over 24 years to the electrical field.
He began his career by learning the trade through residential and commercial service calls while enrolled in a five-year electrical training program.
His career progressed through various commercial and industrial environments, including a paper mill, a nuclear power plant, and a salt mine.
Oree transitioned into project management, where he learned the significance of adhering to budgets and timelines.
Prior to his move to SC, Oree was the Electrical Superintendent at a salt mine, where he expanded his knowledge of programmable logic controls.
After visiting the Bluffton/Hilton Head area, the Knightens decided it was time for a change and to pursue their dream of self-employment in a new state.
