Knighten Electric is a locally owned, full-service electrical contracting firm with over two decades of experience serving the Lowcountry of South Carolina.
With a career spanning more than 25 years, Oree Knighten has gained experience in home, commercial, and industrial sectors.
Before moving to South Carolina, he held the position of electrical superintendent at a salt mine in Louisiana for over a decade.
In this role, he led the electrical program, developed safety protocols, designed programmable logic controls, and managed a team.
Desiring to work for himself and spend more time with family, he and his family moved to the Lowcountry to establish Knighten Electric.
The Knightens, Amanda and Oree, proudly own Knighten Electric.
Amanda contributes her background in communications and sales to the construction industry in South Carolina.
With more than 24 years in the electrical industry, Oree has a wealth of experience.
Oree started his journey by gaining hands-on experience through residential and commercial service calls while participating in a five-year electrical training program.
His career progressed through various commercial and industrial environments, including a paper mill, a nuclear power plant, and a salt mine.
He moved into project management, gaining insights into the importance of staying on budget and meeting deadlines.
Before relocating to SC, Oree served as the Electrical Superintendent for a salt mine, where he furthered his education in programmable logic controls.
After visiting the Bluffton/Hilton Head area, the Knightens decided it was time for a change and to pursue their dream of self-employment in a new state.
