Focusing on new construction, Mr. Surgi played a key role in developing the Metairie, Kenner, Slidell, and Mandeville/Covington suburbs of New Orleans. At that time, Surgi's was responsible for 80% of the new construction mechanical permits submitted in Jefferson Parish, LA.

Ownership of Surgi's changed hands in 1995, now led by Debra and Craig Johnson. Mr. Johnson is licensed as a Mechanical Contractor in Louisiana and has all necessary licenses for Orleans, Jefferson, St. Bernard, St. Tammany, St. John's, and St. Charles Parishes. He, along with his wife Debra and their two children, Evan and Rachael, resides in the New Orleans area.
